    Hi,
i am trying to understand what is actually being deployed here...... http://www.nextgenerationnetwork.ie/ngn-access

Is it FTTC, which will be used to deliver uncongested backhaul for the DSL lines terminating in the cabinet, in otherwords NGB?

OR is it GPON? If it is GPON, then what technology will be used to get from the cabinet to the houses on that exchange? will Eircom laydown fibre so we can have true Bext gen broadband speeds? or will it just be ADSL2+ which we already have or maybe VDSL, not much difference beyond 1Km, if we are lucky?

its hard to see the point of rolling out GPON to the cabintet if the services to the actual customers does not change.....?

interested to understand this if anybody knows the answer.......
    thanks.
