Leaving a Respond-owned house and getting rent allowance

    I am leaving a respond house due to cold and dampness in the house can I put my name back on the council list and apply for rent allowance to rent another house?

    You may have to be renting privately for 6 months, outside of the Respond scheme, before you'll qualify for Rent Allowance separate to the Respond accommodation (you need to confirm this with the CWO before taking any action).
