Don't have to be married to be a Paddy type.

Its true right enough. Viv finally realises what a psychopath the bould Paddy is.

I wonder if Jay ends up dead within the next 24 hours, so releasing Paddy from the smoking gun of the necklace to the gardai but assuming he's found murdered... practically admitting to his family that it was himself that did both of them.
It might be that Vivienne is going to go to the police but gives Paddy a chance to come clean, then Paddy gets the belt. Of course it doesn't really make sense why he would get the belt - surely hitting her in anger would be much more realistic as it's more an instinctive reaction while a belt is calculated.

Paddy Bishop is a horrible man but he provides great entertainment. He is violent and calculating. Akin to Billy Meehan in many ways. With the rise of Love/Hate, a character like this was inevitable to be revived in Fair City. Indeed, Bishop's character makes many of the top guys in Love/Hate look decent by comparison!

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 5,378 ✭✭✭BuilderPlumber

King Nidge would make short work of Paddy.

Both are great characters but Nidge would definitely be the more decent of the two and he would be the man to have onboard to sort out Paddy Bishop.

Paddy is such a convincing liar. I thought the interview with the detective was pretty gripping. I wouldn't fancy having Audrey's job.

That is true. For a while there, he had everyone fooled. Like, he had reformed for real and was an abuse victim. He is very convincing as a liar and very cold and calculating.

Paddy tells Vivienne that he took no pleasure in hurting her, but how she left him with no choice and he makes her promise that it won't happen again. Fearful of another attack, Vivienne agrees to this. Soon afterwards, Paddy is annoyed when Collie tells him that Flynn doesn't want him on a job. Collie insists that Paddy is too long out of the game to be useful and his reputation as a big shot is history.

Later, Zumo and Decco are dumbstruck when Paddy meets them for a drink and proposes that they should carry out a robbery in a Cash for Gold place. He relays how Flynn views the Bishops as small time and how he has to prove their worth. Decco is defensive and wants no dealings with Flynn, but Zumo buys into his hard-done-by act. As the day continues, Zumo tells Decco that Paddy is doing the job as a one-off in order to pay for the honeymoon. Decco feels bad that he can't afford to send his mother on a holiday and he begins to buckle.

Kelly accusation hurts JoKelly accusation hurts Jo
Meanwhile, Jo and Dermot are shocked when Kelly shows up, having flown back from Wales. She is worried about Zoe as she has been moved to temporary foster care and is very unhappy. Kelly is annoyed, and in the heat of the moment, she accuses Jo of messing it up with the foster board because of her affair. She regrets venting, but Jo takes it to heart. Jo insists that Kelly should go back to Cardiff, and she reassures her that they will get Zoe back as they have applied to the foster board to take her on.

Elsewhere, Wayne's dating advice to Orla ignites an unexpected spark

Vivienne pieces together how Paddy is planning a robbery. Her mind races as she concocts a plan to be rid of Paddy for good. Vivienne holds her nerve as she calls the gardai and tips them off about the robbery, but the plan backfires when the boys arrive to help Paddy out on the job. She tries to delay them, but it's to no avail.

Later, with the robbery about to take place, Decco's nerves take over and he insists that he cannot go through with it. Paddy insists they will do it without him, but Zumo explains that it's a three man job as they need someone to keep look out. As a result, a furious Paddy is forced to call the job off. Vivienne is surprised and relieved to see Zumo and Decco return home, but is less enthused to see Paddy.

Meanwhile, Jo is anxious and is cooking up a storm at home, overcompensating and trying to calm her nerves about the upcoming meeting with Emily from the fostering board. When Emily arrives, she says that she wants to talk to them separately and they are anxious they will not be approved to foster Zoe. Both feel even worse after they've been grilled by Emily.

Soon afterwards, they are interrupted when Kelly bursts into the room looking to Emily for answers. Kelly insists that she wants to know if Emily is going to let Zoe stay with them, but Emily is unimpressed and gives nothing away. She asks if Jo and Dermot were in on Kelly's interruption, but they insist they tried to stop her from interfering. Later, Jo and Dermot are delighted when Emily calls with the good news that they have been approved to foster Zoe.

Elsewhere, Leo is forced to make a difficult decision, and will Orla ever find her Mr Right?

In the Bishop household, a stressed Vivienne tries to get herself ready for the big day. The anxiety finally gets the better of Vivienne and she attempts to come clean to Judith, but Paddy interrupts them at the vital moment with news that the priest has arrived. Judith is concerned, but Vivienne insists it's just cold feet and says nothing. The ceremony takes place and Vivienne does her best to hide her fear as her children watch on and Paddy prompts her through things.

Vivienne feels powerless to stop things and soon finds herself at a celebration dinner with her family beaming at her while she does her best to hide the dread she feels inside. Vivienne is scared when they return home and she realises that Paddy has sent the kids out so the two of them can be alone. Paddy is in a romantic mood and Vivienne decides the only way she'll get through it is by spiking Paddy's drink with sleeping pills.

Meanwhile, Jo is fussing about Zoe's arrival and is determined to make a big deal of it. Dermot suggests that it might be better to keep things more low key, but Jo is finding it hard not to get excited. When Zoe finally arrives, Dermot and Jo are both relieved and delighted but Zoe is too busy to notice as she disappears to play with Ben. Kelly soon starts worrying when Ben and Zoe start acting up and have a fight, but Dermot and Jo do their best to reassure her. They all go for a celebration meal and Kelly's fears are soon assuaged when Zoe seems to be back to her old cheerful self.

Elsewhere, Orla thinks DJ Colm Hayes may have the answer to her dating problem as she offers McCoys as a suitable venue for his next singles night.

That interview was ridiculous. How could she be so stupid to tell him all the evidence there was of him before she got something down in writing his formal statement? The first rules of becoming a detective surely...

Thought the scenes the other night between the Detective and Paddy were great. I did find what she was wearing to be slightly odd though. She looked like she was about to go bowling with her kids rather than lead a major murder investigation.

    no sex till marriage

ama going to end up alone

Damian also seems to always end up alone as well. He seems to never be happy with what he has got going for him. Fair enough, he is probably better off without Suzanne given her storyline of 3 years or so ago but Damian also could not resist an affair with Neasa before that.

Now, Damian had a good thing going with Ama the sex before marriage issue aside. Now, with Caoimhe, he is in hot water with Caoimhe's guilt and her mother now on her case. It will be interesting to see what happens in their relationship from now on.
