Dermot loses patience and moves out
Airs Tuesday, Feb 19 2013 at 20:00 GMT

Dermot tells Jo to forget that the kiss ever happened. However, Jo finally manages to corner Dermot to discuss the kiss. Dermot tries to maintain that he doesn't care what Jo wants, but she explains that she still loves him and reckons he feels the same way. Dermot disagrees with her and insists that what they once had is gone. Jo is devastated by Dermot's rejection.

Later, Jo returns home from work to find that Dermot has packed his bags and plans to move out. She tries to talk Dermot into staying, but he refuses and calls her deluded. As Dermot leaves, he sees Ben at the bottom of the stairs. Ben clings to him and begs him not to go. Dermot prises him away and reassures Ben that he will see him all the time.

Meanwhile, Tommy is suspicious that Luke has been in touch with Judith when he catches her trying to hide that she was on the phone. Judith makes one last call to Luke's voicemail to say goodbye and sorry. She then deletes his number. That evening, Judith surprises Tommy with a romantic dinner for the two of them at home, reassuring him that Luke is gone for good. Tommy is relieved, but Judith is filled with regret.

Elsewhere, Paul tricks Wayne by handing over a cheque for €25,000 and claiming that it's half of what he made, while Doug struggles to keep Ama off the streets.

    Paul's deception sparks a showdown
Airs Wednesday, Feb 20 2013 at 20:00 GMT

Eddie takes Dolores aside and tells her the true amount of money the Brennans have come into. Dolores is shocked by their duplicity and is left reeling. Soon afterwards, Dolores reveals to Wayne that Paul made half a million. Wayne is furious and wants to leave immediately to confront Paul. Dolores struggles to control Wayne's anger as he rages about the humiliation Paul has caused him. Dolores assures him that they will do something about it, suggesting that they should contact their solicitors.

Later, Paul, Niamh and Ray are having a good time in McCoys when Wayne enters. Wayne can no longer hold his anger in and goes for Paul. Wayne calls Paul a lying embezzling scumbag and a thief. To the interest of the patrons of McCoys, Wayne exposes how Paul used money from the garage for his investment. Wayne vows to come after Paul with everything he has.

Meanwhile, Jo bemoans her situation with Dermot to Orla, fearing that he has moved out for good. That evening, Dermot comes home to spend some time with Ben. Jo tries to get him to talk, but he refuses to engage with her. Jo fills him in on how upset Ben has been, explaining that he wet the bed. Dermot tells Jo that he already feels bad and goes to help Ben with his homework. Jo pleads with him to stay for the sake of Ben, but he refuses to listen to her.

Elsewhere, a desperate Ama gets some unexpected help.

Paul hears he may be facing prison
Airs Thursday, Feb 21 2013 at 20:00 GMT

Paul calls to the garage to remind Wayne that he signed a contract when he took the money, and demands a public apology from. Eddie tells Wayne to keep it to himself that he was the one to expose Paul's lie. Later, John Deegan asks Paul to call down to the station to make a statement, as Wayne has accused him of stealing €50,000 from the garage. Paul and Niamh are shocked.

Later, Paul arrives home to Niamh from the police station. Paul's solicitor has warned him that Wayne may have a case and that the maximum sentence Paul could serve is twelve years!

Meanwhile, Jo repeatedly appeals to Dermot to come home for the sake of Ben. However, Dermot points out that Ben has stopped wetting the bed and is dealing with it. Ben overhears this and gets an idea. When Dermot leaves to go back to the B&B, Ben hatches his plan of fake wetting the bed and arrives downstairs to Jo with sodden sheets.

Elsewhere, Ama's presence in the community causes friction - and heartbreak.

Paul tries to turn the tables on Wayne
Airs Sunday, Feb 24 2013 at 20:00 GMT

Wayne remains determined that Paul will pay for what he did. However, Dolores reminds him that Paul has a family and that it wasn't too long ago that he also borrowed money from the garage. Dolores asks if he really wants to send a man to prison over a grudge. Later, Niamh and Paul meet with Wayne to discuss a solution. Wayne offers to drop the charges if Paul gives him half the money. Niamh is keen to take him up on it, as she is scared of Paul going to prison.

Later, Paul turns up at Wayne's door with an envelope. However, Wayne opens the envelope to find it empty. Paul tells Wayne that it's going to get ugly, reminding him that he can afford a barrister and legal fees. He also warns that he will be counter-suing Wayne for the money he embezzled when he bought the car.

Meanwhile, Jo and Dermot realise that Ben's bed-wetting is just a ploy. Later, Jo pleads with Dermot to come back for Ben's sake. Dermot accuses Jo of breaking up their family, before cracking and breaking down. Jo comforts him and they finally agree that things can't go on as they have been.

That evening, while playing board games with Ben, Jo and Dermot let the youngster know that they're aware he's been pretending. Dermot tries to reassure Ben that he'll always be there for him, whether they live in the same house or not. When Ben is out of earshot, Dermot sits Jo down to tell her that he will not be moving back - he doesn't love her anymore and that he wants a legal separation.

Elsewhere, Laura grows suspicious of Ama's evasiveness.

Eddie plays peacemaker for his own purposes
Airs Tuesday, Feb 26 2013 at 20:00 GMT

Wayne runs into Eddie, who puts pressure on him to act fast on his next big investment opportunity. Eddie reminds him that it's a one-off deal and 'a life changer'. Soon afterwards, Decco meets Eddie heading into McCoys and comments that he's heard Eddie will be a witness for Wayne. He winds him up that his mother will visit him when he's inside for illegal trading.

Soon afterwards, Eddie tries to play peacemaker, warning Niamh that Paul needs to rein himself in. He then attempts to get Wayne to drop the case and show Dolores that he can be the bigger man. Eddie suggests that if he drops the case, Dolores may give him the investment seed money he needs. Later, Wayne and Paul both apologise and Decco compliments Eddie on how he manipulated the situation to get out of being a witness in court. In the end, Dolores stays firm in her decision not to invest. Though their plan hasn't worked yet, Wayne vows to Eddie that once he is rich, he is going to annihilate Paul Brennan…

Meanwhile, Jo continues pleading with Dermot to come back. However, Dermot declares that as long as Jo is there, he will never move back and that he has taken steps to end their marriage. Jo tells Dermot that she's glad Ben doesn't know what a nasty man his father can be. That evening, Dermot is in a foul mood and drowns his sorrows in McCoys. Orla tries to get him to talk about it, but he snaps at her. Dermot returns to the B&B, and tries to distract himself from the raucous noise there. However, he is completely miserable and alone.

Elsewhere, Ama makes a decision to take control of her future.

Tommy basically rapes his wife and suddenly she is in love with him again

I dont know what sort of message this sends to young men.. it's a good job none of them watch it.

Why is Dermot wearing Lucy's raincoat? He fcuked up his dramatic exit tonight by short stepping out the door like an idiot and Jo was ready to burst out laughing.

yea the whole "follow the money" story!! What criminal shenanigans are the other end of eddies deals....

the truth of it is that story will drag on and on and on...it will then end in one episode and then forgotten about entirely from then on!!
Where did Eddie get the 500k to give to Paul?

I did ask myself the same question. There was no mention of him taking any money from anybody else to fund his ponzi scheme.. If he had the 500k why didnt he just run off with that :D

    Also,
Jo: "Dermish, there's no use packing my bags, I'm not leaving".
    Dermot: "They are my bags"..
Would Joe not recognise her own bags and clothes, or has Dermot been cross dressing again??

Wouldn't many couples just have suitcases that they use whenever they need them, rather than his and hers models?

Did anyone catch how much Paul gave Wayne last night? What was the contract he was making him sign?

  • Registered Users Posts: 4,781 ✭✭✭clappyhappy

He gave him €25,000 and got him to sign a contract saying that he couldn't come after him for more.

  • Registered Users Posts: 544 ✭✭✭Long Room Hubba

I wonder what Wayne will do with the money. It will be something stupid, obviously, but exactly how stupid? The obvious thing is to get ripped off by Eddie, but I hope he does something funnier.

With his experience in the escort industry, there's always the possibility of running a stable of buff young eejits. Ryan could come back from Perth as the star attraction.

This homeless girl and her story is so bad. Atrocious acting. Please, for the love of God get her off my television. Doug too - he is useless but if you insist on keeping him around don't put him in any serious storylines.

Sorry, but the whole scenario is wrecking my head. She turns up in the HP or McCoys every 5 minutes.

On another note, did Wayne actually accept €25K? Thats it done and dusted?

Am I right in saying that on Sunday's episode Damo and new girl were talking about having consulted with Bob about life in the shelter, and when someone said Bob was robbed in there she said 'He never told me that', and then in last night's episode when she was in the HP Bob had no idea who she was? Continuity at its finest there.

Simple explanation...It was another Bob! The world is full of Bobs of different shapes and sizes. Bob Charles had no idea who she was but the Bob who consulted with her would remember. Then again perhaps Bob Charles is starting to suffer from short term memory loss perhaps signalling the early stages of Alzheimers Disease. A nasty storyline for Bob Charles perhaps?:D

Stephen used to be a member of the Army Rangers Unit (trained by Paschal) before he became the world's best barman, so he is also a fully qualified Ninja.

He would be in serious trouble legally, if he used those special skills against a pair of shapers like Paul and Wayne. ;)

I agree - very dodgy. But even though you are supporting women in your first comment, your second comment, unfortunately infers young women are gormless enough to watch FC. But actually maybe you meant neither young men nor young women watch it! Sorry for being pinickity!!! (I'm neither young nor old!!!)

I agree - the whole Ama story line is so pointedly a lesson from the national broadcaster to remind 'us' to practice some charity, humility and inner gratefulness. And to advertise how incredulously charitable some Carriggstown folk are - fighting over each other to save poor Ama. It's so worthy it's like a hammer to the head. Subtlety, with regards to ' social issues', is non-existent in FC. It's so damn PC!! A real act of decency would have been to employ an actual African - Ama's accent hops all over the gaff!! Non convincing.

A man of many many talents to be sure. This man is no ordinary man. This is Mr. S. G. Superbarman. To all appearances, he looks like any other law-abiding citizen. But Mr S. G. Superbarman has a secret identity...when trouble strikes in any public house at any time...at any place...he is ready to become... Mr Super Public House Bar Man!!!!

PS. If I was the FC director I would have let Stephen loose to do his worst with those two wasters. :D An interesting tussle would be Zumo and Stephen to see who excels at marshal arts.

to be honest, I think Stephen was probably pissing himself laughing at wayne's attempt at being a tough guy...

I'll give it a chance, but I was disappointed to see Ama insisting on paying for her tea and "hating to accept charity". It reinforces the idea that charity is something shameful, and it also makes Ama a cliche.

Yes! She also uses an awful lot of Hiberno English terms for an African who has just arrived here - at least that's the impression she gave at first. Really poor script writing!

Annoys me more than Jo and Benjamin Fahey combined. I love FC but want to turn off everytime I see that rucksack.

Paul and Eddie story is very stupid. If Eddie is able to make 10 times profit from an investment why isn't he investing and making himself rich instead of others? Also what planet is FC writers on to think that one can make X10 of their money in one week

Eddie's petty reaction to being rebuffed by Paul for business makes no sense whatsoever, everyone's going to know (everybody knows everyone elses business in FC) that it was Eddie that spilled the beans to Dolores about Paul and Niamhs €500,000 investment windfall, so who would want to invest with someone who can't be trusted to keep his mouth shut about their private investment matters? Eddie is simply shooting himself in the foot for future business.
