Direwolf20 Modpack server

I've made the decision to go ahead with a Direwolf20 server to replace my current Tekkit one. The server should hopefully be live in a week or so, whenever the plugins are working correctly. I will post here when it is live. In the meantime I am looking to fill the whitelist and staff positions. To get the Direwolf20 modpack you need to download the Feed the Beast Launcher here. http://feed-the-beast.com/#download_wrapper

There will hopefully be a teamspeak server set up for players in the near future.

Because the modpack is so new and we dont have much experience in the problems that can happen you might see that you are being given a lot of freedom. But keep in mind if you do anything which affects the server or interferes with the other players in a negative manner you will be removed from the server. "It's not against the rules" is not an excuse for damaging the server or being an ass.

Remember, this is an experiment to see how things go. It may not work and we may have to go to another modpack. Any suggestions on what items should be banned, plugins to add or donator perks would be very welcome. You can post them here http://tektopia.freeforums.org/server-suggestions-t5.html

Finally, if anyone decides to specialise in a certain modpack and would like to take part in a mod spotlight for my channel please let me know.

Rules
No pvp without agreement
No Trespassing, Looting, Thieving, Griefing, Begging
Test Computercraft programs Offline
No creating Mystcraft worlds. This is a direct ban offence
Portals are disabled. Community portal available at spawn
When your quarry is finished ask an admin to refill it before you place another

Server is 24/7 and hosted on DaddyCheese who are quite reliable. Can support 48 at a time.

Ranks
Prisoner: You have been a bad boy and are in jail
Builder: You are new to the server or have done something bad and been demoted.
Trusted: You have been on the server without breaking the rules for 1 week. You are considered to know the rules and to follow them
Doantor: You have been generous and supported the server. You will receive a reward for this.
Investigator: You can investigate griefing and report your finings to the moderators or admins.
Mod: Tasked with enforcing the rules and repairing grief.
Admin: Tasked with running the server


The following recipes have been removed from server for safety:

The following items will be gifted to Donators:
1) A warp point to the end portal

Penalties for Breaking the Rules:
1st Offence: Caution - You will be demoted for 7 days and be placed on probation. You are only entitled to one caution in your server lifetime. If the mod/admin decides your offence is serious enough they can skip the caution
2nd Offence: Jail - You will be Jailed for 7 days and demoted for a further 7. If an admin decides your offence is serious enough you will be banned.
3rd Offence - You will be struck with the ban hammer

Server is up on a trial basis to see how it handles

The host was unable to support the Direwolf20 pack. The server has reverted back to Tekkit Classic and the old map is uploading now.

The IP for the Tekkit Classic server is 46.105.114.30:25610

I have paid for a secong host which should support the Direwolf20 pack. It should be live later today.

The IP for the Direwolf20 server will be 193.0.159.201:25575

There is now a Teamspeak Server set up for people to chat if they want.
The IP for the TeamSpeak server is 193.0.159.15:10318
Password is Tektopia13


All of the above should be going live during the evening. You can request whitelist for DW20 server here. I've asked for the Tekkit Classic thread to be reopened for whitelist requests also.

just wondering if anyone else is having any hassle logging in, i keep getting a message about a load of new versions for some mods, but i dont seem to be able to update anything with the ftb launcher as far as i can see.

In the launcher when you click on Direwolf you'll see a drop down menu to the right which should say recommended. Change that to v5

Dan Burnsy banned for grieving Tekkit server. You may defend yourself if you wish but you should know that Tekkit periodically logs your position in the logs and you were logged at each grief spot. I would be interested in knowing what you used though.

We were on v5 in the launcher. It seems they changed the version numbers. I can't do anything about it now because i am running on dial up speeds but I'll update the server files to 5.01 as soon as possible.

They updated a few of the mods between v5 and 5.01. Unfortunately they also unnecessarily renamed the startup files for some unknown reason. This will complicate the update a little as it won't be simply a matter of copying over the new mod files I will have to take down, edit and reupload the whole thing..

I have to keep with the builds that are compatable with the bukkitforge plugin so that I can use the bukkit plugins. I'll try keep to the recommended ones though.

But surely you could hold off on implementing the beta or in-house testing builds, usually they dont last much longer than a week so far anyway, so were not missing out that much if we dont update straight away

v5 required a new map because of the addition of Twilight Forest and Extra Bees. So if I had held off on it I would have had to reset the map this week again.

He's still active on tektopia forums, so I'm not sure. One thing I will say, having an 18+ server would cancel out a lot of headaches.. its hard to verify but worthwhile if it removes griefing etc..

Say it to an admin/mod or investigator when they are online. Also we have lockette installed so people cant steal from chests.
