Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    PS:

The way I pronounced this when I was first informed of it caused a few raised eyebrows :pac:

I fit a luggage rack to my cbr 600 last night, I was lucky to find one second hand on adverts.

I just need to trim the fairings a bit now to fit. I was just going to use a file, any other suggestions?

What kinda rack is it? What model Cbr? Personally if I could avoid cutting the fairing at all I would but if there’s no other option a file or dremmel type tool on a low speed to keep control would be my preference.

Man thats a lovely bike, stupid question since its got no lights is a track bike? or is it you just dont use it at night :)

In 2003 Aprilia made them to enter a Naked bike race championship.
You couldn't just rock up with a one off bike so they made 150 for the road but they came with a racekit as well as a roadkit.
This is my bike below with its roadkit.
I can swap over the nose cones easily (5 minute job).
So on top the road gear you also got

    Race nose cone
    Race Belly Pan
Race exhaust with chip + aluminium hanger
    Seat Cowl
    Upsidedown gear shifter
    Wired brake banjo bolts
    Rear taillight mesh

I might have forgot a few bits

And if the Arrow shotguns aren't your thing

It'll be sweeter when I get the correct hanger for those shotguns.
    The angle is wrong.
The space between exhaust and the taillight is too big.
    I have one located though.

Yer a mad man for these intricate details. That's something I'm not terribly pushed on but could try harder:pac:
Has she custom mapping? They response very well to a map per cylinder and a touch of ignition advance. The rene air box kit sounds deadly and gave good gains.

    Just purchased Brembo M50 calipers.
    Braking 320mm floating discs.
    Custom made HEL lines.
Oh and an Arrow titanium system.

How the hell do I post pics on this forum???

in essence, you can attach images to posts and you can use the 'insert images' function (when editing of creating posts) to link to the image attached.

Tried autosol for the first time today, the photo doesn’t show it but the difference is huge. A serious amount of dirt came from these. Have to finish it tomorrow

in an attempt to bring this thread back on topic - i lubed (ooer) my clutch cable today. It was sticky as hell and full of gunk. I bought a cable luber during the week, so was able to clamp that on and spray a load of wd40 down there to loosen the gick, and it appears to be much smoother now. I haven't been on the bike since i bought it, but might go and get petrol today, and bring it for a spin around the block to make sure it is ok.

it was idling a bit low, so i raised the idle by turning a screw. It's bouncy (compared to sports bikes) but again, i havent really done much riding on it. I do remember being impressed with it as a package - good wide leverage on the bars, but will see what it's like when i eventually get it out for a good spin.

Turning a screw for idle is my preferred method of idle adjust:) Fookin stepper motors, tuneboy, co, fuel idle trims....
I'd say your gona love it, like a smoother better version of yer old bandit?

9 years with original battery. Time to replace.

    IMG_20200428_121407.jpg

5.3 to 1.3Kg and the starter really spins now

Nice bit of pace under it and some weight saving. I used a smaller battery and modified the box to accept a small aa compressor pump.
Where'd you get the battery (how much if you don't mind me asking) and what bike?

    Tiger 800
Mts-racing-shop24 on ebay. Also on line motorradteile-mts.de
Same price as new battery for my 15 qashqai. Not cheap.

fitted el cheapo double bubble screen from ebay. Looks a bit taller compared to the standard one - will see what it is like when i ride the bike again. Broke one of the plastic screws putting it back on, which sucks. Need to get a new one now.
