there's something dodgy on that laptop! Get a decent virus checker on it. And don't enter any personal info on that page!

Looks like something is wrong with your laptop. Run a full virus scan asap.
And DO not enter any personal information to that popup.

You'll never ever ever ever be asked for a credit card number to verify your identity. The fact that it asks for an expiry and CVV too should make you run a mile. The american spelling for "apologize" is also a red flag for me. Run a scan on your laptop.

Slick scam though. I can see how people might actually fall for it.

I'd be sending an email to BOI too making them aware of this latest scam.
Here's the BOi section on reporting security issues:

    http://www.bankofireland.com/legal/security/report-security-concerns

    Quote from BOI website:
If you suspect you have received a fraudulent email or have been asked to provide your personal or banking information (username, pin, etc) in an unusual manner, such as by pop-up or web page, report it immediately. Do not reply to or follow any of the instructions provided, regardless of how genuine they may appear.

If you notice anything suspicious in relation to your online banking, email us immediately at 365security@boimail.com or call:

    1890 365 200 Online Banking Help Desk or 1890 365 365
    (Republic of Ireland customers)
    0845 7 365 555 (for Northern Ireland customers)

Did malwarebytes tell you of any issues? or did it generate a report of what it fixed?

it generated a report with a bunch of items which it removed
