Depends on the rate the hair grows at, but I would guess every 6 weeks or so? Maybe more often if the hair grows fast, less if it's slower. It also depends how "tidy" you want the dog to look, if kept well brushed by you, and you don't mind trimming around eyes etc, you could leave it longer.
