Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

I hate this saying... Fair enough if you felt it wasnt a red card, thats your opinion.
But in general, a red card is usually deserved.
Is a ref supposed to think, not a red, I might ruin the game???

I definitley think it was a penalty but i dont think the red was as clear cut. If Dzeko was one on one with the keeper then id have no arguments bout the sending off.

Exactly, it may change the game but the decision was correct, I think some people would rather see a card not given 'so not to spoil the game'.

It was correct in your opinion.

Last man, goal scoring opportunity, correct decision.

Would posters ever just shut the fcuk up about Quinn. His opinion counts for more that everyone else's on this forum. Why? Because he's earned it in all areas of the game.

Sick and tired hearing about that, posts battering him must make up about 20% of this fcuking thread. It's tired, it's old and it's just wrong.

Haven't enjoyed a half of football this much since the second half of the 6-1 all things considered.

Milner showing just how important he really is for us. We've a few more goals in us too.

    Feel sorry for Wilshere.

He'd be better off doing a RVP for himself and take over from Scholes at utd.

He's never going to win anything at Arsenal.

Horrendous display from Arsenal again, you cant blame the ref it was a stone wall peno and red.

    Get your **** together arsenal!

Wasn't a goal scoring opportunity, he wasn't even going to get to the ball.

It was a stupid foul by Koscielny, it was a bloody rugby tackle on the last man he cannot be shocked at the red card IMO.

We conceded two goals and almost blew the title, so definitely not an enjoyable half.

Injury time is a different story ;)

He wasn't even looking at the ball for christ sake. It was a high bouncing ball which he hadn't touched yet so how could it be in control of it for a clear goal scoring opportunity?

  • Registered Users Posts: 9,839 ✭✭✭Jelle1880

It was correct in your opinion.

He ****ing rugby tackled him down.
The only reason why we're still going on about it is because Quinn is getting into a tantrum over it, **** commentator.

The ball clearly landed within striking distance of his right foot, rose tinted specs if you cant see that. Dean has gotten the big decisions all right today so far. Just bad defending and concentration costing a poor Arsenal team.

Stop being nonsensical, everyone agrees it was a foul, the rugby bit means absolutely nothing in the context of the red card. Its whether it denied a goal scoring opportunity or not.

I have seen refs be lenient so as not to disrupt the flow of a game before, generally something that gets praised when it happens.

Regardless of whether the red was correct there's no denying a sending off that early in a match always seems like an anti climax.

I hear ya. I know what you mean...
But all that matters is the correct decision. No????

For example, 5minutes into any game, a horror tackle, studs to the knee. Should the ref not send the player off? Ahhhh no, the game might be ruined!!!!

The ref has to make the correct decision no matter what time is on the clock!

  • Registered Users Posts: 5,336 ✭✭✭Mr.Micro

Does anyone really think Dean would give that decision at Old Trafford against Vidic or Ferdinand?

    Not a fcuking chance.

No way, his career would be over.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 9,205 ✭✭✭Gringo180

Its actually baffling how poor and nieve we are. A disgusting amount of effort been put in by the players!

  • Site Banned Posts: 2,719 ✭✭✭DB10

Dean acting the bollix again, but we've been utter ****e again some things never change do they. Cant believe I thought we had a chance here. With 11 men we had a shout. Still no excuse, more rubbish its easy to blame the referee here.

If it was in the other box we'd want the city player sent off. Right decision.

Dear me, grasping at straws much ?

Dean thought he was denied a goal scoring opportunity, and I can see where he's coming from.

Why ? he's getting paid for his contributions just like the players and if they're worthy of criticism so be it. I'm just thankful it's not Lou Macari

Course we would but would Deane have gave it?

Who the assistant manager at city?

    Platt or Kidd??

So your rugby table comment is irrelevant then is what you are saying?

You can see where he is coming from but it;s still an opinion which is open to interpretation. There isn't any clear right or wrong here like you originally stated.

I don't think he'd have the balls, big game for City. Pushing and pulling happens every game he chose today to give it.

    That's my opinion

Match is over and City are launching into tackles, wish Arsenal would really start launching now, the outcome is irrelevant.

Ramsey for Diaby and Giroud for Podolski perhaps?

Giroud, your time has come. Think he could do well with the opportunites were getting, however few they are

2 down a man down and you want Ramsey! Not the game now for him maybe last 10 through the middle

Ramsey on, if he manages to save us there wont be another bad word about him. Even Vermaelen is noticing all the fouls Dzeko is getting away with

Diaby is just back from injury and we don't really have too many other options with Arteta out. Coquelin maybe but he doesn't offer much offensively.

    Tis done now anyway.

They are chasing top media talking all week about 10 point gap, we are 8th I think refs get caught up in expectations.

You can't honestly say that even half of the pushing and pulling that goes on is awarded
