Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Would be alot more confident if Cech was playing!

Although if Ba starts.. I think we have a good chance!

Cech is 50/50 he's going to do the warm up and see how he gets on.

I just posted this is the Chelsea forum, Gary Cahill won't be playing, his girlfriend is gone into labour.

At least Ba starts. This is going to be a very tough game.

For some reason I think we will win. Probably because Torres isnt starting.:pac:

Stoke away is always a real tough game - can't wait to see BA in action.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 5,852 ✭✭✭homer simpson

I'm looking forward to seeing us play with Ba starting, I'm not however looking forward to Luiz at CB, although it's against stoke if it was against a team like Swansea or a team with a bit of pace up front I'd be more worried.

    1-3 Chelsea win me-thinks!

Stoke are the only team in England not to loose at home - hope this can be broken today.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,200 ✭✭✭hots

Does everyone else think these commentators are tucked up at home instead of at the ground... just sounds very weird?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,200 ✭✭✭hots

Bertrand hasn't been great so far imo

Walters is having a cracking season so far.

Have to say bar the Kenwyne Jones chance, Chelsea are defending very well..

    Up to this freekick..

    Good save from Begovic

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,200 ✭✭✭Garzorico

    Bertrand is p*iss poor again

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 11,889 ✭✭✭✭klose

Frank should have buried that but still a good save by begovic. Bertrand isint very good

Begović is such a great keeper.

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,200 ✭✭✭Garzorico

    Luiz would have scored that

Stoke fans roaring "boring" as that move developed right up until Lampard's shot:pac:

    Good play from Walters there.

Why do Stoke get so much hate? They play like virtually everyone else in England. They hit a few log balls but I'd hardly call their football 'caveman' as you see so often. They do seem to foul a lot but nothing malicious.

You must never watch them. Ever.

Their against Chelsea, a top team, with great creative(and small) players and they are not being overly physical. I can't imagine they become much worse against teams that they are more on a level football wise.

Good hit by Whelan, great technique.

Stoke have been very good at the back. Chelsea look like they might find a way through with a clever pass but so far Stoke have been recovering well in those positions.

This has 1-0 stoke written all over it, lampard really needed to take that chance he had.

Harsh on Walters, although if he hadn't tried to clear it Mata would have scored.

  • Moderators, Sports Moderators Posts: 15,694 Mod ✭✭✭✭dfx-

Ramires was excellent in the first half, he was everywhere putting himself about has got Chelsea going forward, despite being kicked by Adam and running into Huth.

Wilkinson looks dodgy now against Hazard with his yellow, Mata is coming more into the game and Azpilicueta barged Jones over..

And Benitez smirking beside the ref as Pulis ranted..:)

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 16,038 ✭✭✭✭niallo27

What's wrong with Pullis, the ref has had full all to do. I really don't like that man.

Chelsea will need to keep defending well and hopefully more space will open up on the counter. Hazard has his man in all sorts of trouble and he's already on a yellow.

Stoke are a bunch of thugs.

Best half I've seen Hazard play in a while

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 3,296 ✭✭✭EdenHazard

OK throwing out that Stoke are a bunch of thugs adter that first half just shows that Stoke's roughness is complete overstated. They hardly did anything. I think it was 7 fouls to 5, and none of Stokes tackles had any malice. They were just mistimed, or little pushes

Did people only start calling them thugs 45 minutes ago?

Your sample is flawed....just throwing it out there.

Have to agree with this, physicality is key to their game and they use it well, rarely overstepping the mark IMO.

They won a lot of ball in that half through sheer strength and hard work.
