I'd wildcard if I was you, your teams pretty messed up.

Goalkeepers: Jaask was good earlier in the season but West Ham haven't kept many clean sheets lately, I'd keep him this week for the DGW then drop him for Cech or De Gea.
Al-Habsi is not worth 5m, get rid quickly, maybe Bunn of Norwich he's 4.1m and is playing while Ruddys injured.

Defenders: You have spent way to much here. You should only be playing 3 each week so no more than 3 players costing more than 5m, personnally I'd go with 2 expensive defenders from the top teams and 3 cheap defenders( no more than 4.2m) and play the 2 expensive each week and rotate the other 3 depending on fixtures.

Midfield: Are you planning on playing 3-4-3 or 3-5-2 usually as you have cheap player in either. I'll presume your playing 3-4-3, get a cheap midfielder for less than 4.5m who plays regularly, he will always be your sub in your front 8 barring someone else doesn't play, there is no point having all that money on the bench. Loose one of Pienaar or Fellaini and Yaya and get Mata or Bale and cheap mid.

Forwards: I'd get RVP but I won't try force him on a player who doesn't want him. Apart from him choices are fairly split though Suarez and Ba have been great so far but there is question marks over their future returns now. Keep an eye an Aguero when he returns and Sturidge at Liverpool.

I'll through up my team to give you an idea though I wouldn't pick some of the players I have :o

Saw this, and will probably play the WC this week. Will just wait til closer to the weekend incase the predicted snow causes issues.

"Hoy volví a entrenar con el equipo y me sentí muy bien. Que lindo es volver a pisar el campo de juego!!"

Seen this on a Spanish speaking site i use. Said it's from Sergio Aguero's twitter. On my phone and its annoying to check. Anyways if true it says that today he returned to training with the team and that he feels good. It's nice to step back out on the field.

Keeping on eye on this dude.

Great news he dropped to 10.9 last night aswell.

Getting a city defender in but which one .....
Nastasic is 5.6 and seems to be first choice now but offers no assist or goal threat
Clichy same price gets forward but not a certain starter
Zabaletta starter and gets forward but is 6 m
    Any opinions ?

what are the chances of o brien playing both games for west ham. i was thinking of putting in demel for 4 points. if he plays both games he'll get at least that.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 13,685 ✭✭✭✭wonski

Anyne thinking about Tevez? His price is tempting now, not sure if he is worth it.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 378 ✭✭Bigtoe107

Thinking of swapping Ba out for Podolski just for this Gw and getting Fellani for Lennon good move? it will cost me four points but I should make that back and the hairy fella is in my long term plans anyway I was .1 short last week to get him in.

I would get in Fellaini, but maybe keep Ba? Good chance he'll start with Torres probably on his way out of the club, no?

no idea what to do with my transfer, i had planned on swapping ba to podolski for the dgw.
not sure if i should give ba another couple of weeks to see how it plays out.
my fear is podolski may not play both games and as one of them is away to chelsea anyway it'd be pretty annoying if he played that and not the west ham game.
i already have arsenal cover in walcott and cazorla (i have the cash to swap cazorla to bale after the dgw)

I wouldn't really be too worried about Pod being rested. I'd be more worried about his time on the pitch when he does start.

He's been taken off in the last two PL matches before the 60 minute mark. I had him marked down as a potential Torres replacement but decided against it.

Any word on Joey O'Brien? Will he be fit for the DGW? Brought him in in my WC, and now he's bloody injured.

I downgraded to Demel for this exact reason.

I'm holding on to my transfer this week, gonna see how/if Ba plays against Arsenal. Would be nice to have 2 FT's on hand going forward, although if Ba doesn't play they will both be used up fairly quickly getting Fellaini in.

Hopefully there's no games called off this week, could be a disaster.

at this stage, nobody should be touching their transfers.

if at all possible, don't do any this week at all.

you really are taking a massive gamble if you do.

Yea, my plan was to downgrade Bale to Fellaini and upgrade Ruiz to Sturridge for a 4 point hit (worth the hit IMO), giving me Ba RVP and Sturridge up front with Walcott, Fellaini, Michu, Mata and Puncheon in midfield, all to chosse from.

Defoe to Podolski looks the easy choice this week I think. Have Walcott and Santi so it's either Podolski or one of Gibbs/Sagna in for Shorey

Hasn't delivered in a while bit certainly has the pedigree too.

A risky choice with so many other mids delivering better returns at present.

To drop Ba for a Suarez or an arsenal forward (Podolski) or keep him??

I'd keep him, even if he doesn't get the 60 minutes, he's likely to score when he comes off the bench, and having played the two midweek games and coming through them Benitez might have overcome fitness/injury worries, though he won't play 60+ in every game.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 9,600 ✭✭✭roryc

I'm giving Ba another week. His form isn't the issue, it's whether Rafa plays him enough to make it a worthwhile risk. I've seen nothing yet to say he won't.

Looking at that match last night I can't see Ba being dropped anytime soon, brought so much linkup play to the attack that Chelsea had really been missing. Torres was shocking when he came on.

Seen the highlights last night there was a fair bit of booing for torres aswell its not looking good for him there. If Ba starts against Arsenal I believe torres will either be sold or loaned out with another striker coming in. Did anyone see the Arsenal game ,was walcott back on the wing and did he play well? Like a lot who have him hes the obvious capt choice this wk surely. Also Giroud how did he look and will he play both games could take a punt on Ba to him for this week and then Aguero the following week.

I didn't see the match, but I read a Wenger interview saying he'll be playing him through the middle more now, which would suggest he'll be off the wing for the DGW. Don't have the link off hand though, sorry about that.

Didn't see the game but Amy Lawrence (Journalist & big Arsenal fan) was purring on twitter about Wilshere's performance saying he is a natural number 10. He scored the winner and could of had another.

At £6.4m and only 1.5% ownership, he could be an interesting differential.

    Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger:

"Jack was outstanding tonight. He played in a different position, a bit higher up and it suited him well. I didn't expect him to be this good at this stage.

"I always thought that if we could get Jack back to a reasonable level by January we will have done well, but he is ahead of what I could imagine.

"He is back to what he was before the injury, I think so, yes. A complete midfielder can defend and attack and Jack can also dribble and give a final ball so the closer players like him are to the goal the better it is for them."

Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers says Luis Suarez's admission of diving is "unacceptable" and he will be dealt with "internally" by the club.

What will this mean? A slap on the wrist or a ceremonial dropping for a game?

Could mean either, thankfully I'm going for Sturridge.

A fine I'd say. They won't drop him for a game. Too important to the team.

Looks like Luiz to Zab for me,boring transfer to reduce Chelsea overload and also building my bank which sits at 2.8.

Hoping to transfer my way to getting Bale in 2 weeks meaning adios Suarez and hello Sturridge!

Watched a bit of the Arsenal game, Walcott had 2 great chances which he missed (obviously). For the first one he used his pace to get into a 1 on 1 with the keeper and just clipped it narrowly wide. The 2nd one was from point blank and he smashed a shot straight into a defender when he should have scored.

Iain Dowie said he was the best player on the pitch apart from Wilshire, not sure if his opinion is worth much but he seemed to have a decent game anyway.

Is there only one wild card per season? I think I may have been a bit hasty today and used it

there's 2. One during the Jaan transfer window, and one you can use at any time.

Current team, so many players I'd like to get in:

Would like to get in Fellaini and Gibbs at the least. Can't see where I'm going to do it though. Unless I rid of Shawcross (bought from start), downgrade Suarez (but to whom as he is playing Norwich this weekend), and upgrade Marveaux?

    Decisions decisions

Suarez to Sturridge? Shawcross isn't as valuable as he used to be so moving him to Gibbs would be worth it.

I'm impressed with his set piece crosses and corner-taking ability. If he could only show a little more technique in his shooting...

Feck it,Defoe out-Podolski in. Walcott for captain.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,182 ✭✭✭Tiriel

Had a bad week last week and dropped to 66 in boardsie league, and by 30 points on 2nd place in the work league. Kind of want to make up that ground as soon as I can!

Thinking Walcott for Captain, with RVP as vice.

Wildcard question.. I used one in November - so is it just 1 I have left to use?! Is that the January one?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 10,969 ✭✭✭✭alchemist33

    That is correct.

I have Ashley Cole and Michu on my bench and Ian Harte and Fellaini in the field. Ian Harte is a beast with free kicks and Newcastle love to foul, plus I think Arsenal are sure to score 1 against Chelsea.

    Is this a bad idea?

hmmm, i think i might opt against him so, was looking at maybe getting gibbs in for this gw, he's due to rise in price tonight (as is podolski) but with so much up in the air about fixture postponements i'll let them rise, i'd rather pay the extra .1 than make a transfer now and then risk having to take 4 point hits to field a team.
