Yes its the course in UCD.

I like to know people's experience of the course?

    Was it manageable?

Did they find the course content good?

I have applied so I basically would like to know how people have got on with this course.

    Thanks

I did type a long detailed response but it vanished when I tried to post it and I'm in work now so can't type it all out again...damn you boards.ie

I'll just give a short overview.

Age group on my course is from early 20's to early 60's

The course is delivered on Fri and Sat days about once per month, these are made up of all day lectures with a couple of breaks during the day.

You will have to complete several assignments in between the lecture days and study time demands are from 16 to 20 hours per week but this is really dependent on your aptitude and how quick you can absorb the required knowledge.

The degree is quite generic, it covers various subjects across all sectors of business. I find it (mostly) very interesting.

I am working full time while studying and in my opinion the hardest part is maintaining the required levels of motivation and discipline.
You MUST set aside days during the week for study and revision and you MUST stick to these as rigidly as possible, form a routine and it will become easier. Also I would advise you to get involved in a study group as soon as possible after the commencement of the course.

Some people drop off from the course after year one because they lose motivation or have personal reasons. It is very easy to lose sight of the goal after the first year but keep going, dont waste all the time and effort you have already put in through the first year.

You need to accept that there will be times when you have to put your study and revision ahead of socialising with friends/girlfriends.
It is important to stick to a study routine, it is very easy to slip into a negative mind frame and start putting the study off, the hardest part is getting started so regardless of how you feel, just pick up the text book and get started.

If you have any particular questions feel free to ask, I'll do my best to answer them if I can.

I am in 3rd year at the minute. It is a good course, but it is difficult to manage with job and life.
You really need to be committed to get good grades, but everyone on the course is in the same boat.

The subjects are really broad so you can get a great business feel. When a lecturer supplies ausio notes to accompany lectures it is helpful. I advise to request this from the office as some lecturers refuse to do them.
