Right lads I am sure ye have mentioned it before, but someone who has been through the myCIC yoke can ya give me a rundown of all the stuff you needed for uploading? I have my pic resized already, my birth cert (resized) and passport both of which should be here in a day or two - according to the website it is PRINTED - my cv, which I need to play around with a bit - do we really need to put all when we went on holiday and the like onto the cv? Somebody said that and I thought it was weird. The garda cert, which fingers crossed will pop in in the post in the next couple days. Owt else? Apart from the parts that we can't submit yet like the conditional acceptance and the like, which obvs we are waiting on the Kompass to open for that. Cheers

I was in the same boat, lived in a lot of different places in a short space of time. I put down all my addresses just to be on the safe side.

Can I ask how did you go about resizing your passport photo?

I read the dimensions required (it says this on the CIC as far as I know - I have mine done from the us greencard and I'm 90% that they are the same dimesions, although obviously I'll triple check before uploading!) and if you open the pic in paint you can resize it specifically to the required size.

the us greencard one was sized 600 x 600 pixels, i think paint only allows to resize in pixels and percentage, i know the Canadian one is 35mm x 45mm not sure if they stated it in a pixel size?

im having awful trouble with my passport photo, am trying the last 3 days to get it to the correct dimensions etc? can anybody here give me any help or advice?

same boat man iam going in to my local photogropher after lunch with this printed on a page and see if he can do it.
Digital Photo

Dimensions:
The final frame size of the photo must be at least 35 mm x 45 mm (1 3/8" x 1 ¾").
The photographs must show the full front view of the head, with the face in the middle of the photograph, and include the top of the shoulders.
The size of the head, from chin to crown, must be between 31 mm (1 ¼") and 36 mm (1 7/16").
Digital dimensions are often expressed in pixels or DPI (dots per inch). The physical dimensions in pixels must be at least 420 x 540

And if he can i will just get him to copy it to my usb stick:)

I tried this link http://www.idphoto4you.com/ if you have a digital photo of yourself it allows you to crop the photo to the correct size and download the image after a time limit but only problem I have when I open the photo on the laptop it looks huge, I'm just wondering whether it has to be the actual size of a passport photo or in the correct proportion.

Have you tried the link I have listed, if you can take a photo of yourself against a white or light coloured background, I took mines against a room wall, just uploaded to the site and pretty easy to crop etc.

For people having problems with the digital picture I've attached a photo that is the exact size and dimensions.
Obv you don't have to make it match perfectly but make it as close as you can get it. Also make sure the photo is clear.

You can use photoshop to upload your image and adjust frame size/ DPI/PPI etc. You dont have to an expert, anybody can do it.....if you want to try it i can give easy directions

Cheers for that wasterex.
So i went in and i got my pic taken and put on to a blank Cd. 4 photos for a 10 er is what the photographer charged me and he adjusted the settings etc. quite happy now as it had been wrecking me head for a while.
Hope ye all get sorted i would try the local photographer in your town he should be able to help:)

hi guys quick question i have received my police cert back but it does not mention my middle name on the cert. My passport has my middle name but i am wondering does it matter the cert does not have my middle name. The guards told me it makes no difference and so have go for less but still worried?. Should i get a new one ?

my pic isnt too far off the requirements but isnt exact, the dpi is off but the size etc isnt too far out, do you think it would be a problem? theyd hardly refuse somebody over something small like that but i dont want to risk it at the same time....

I am finding a lot of conflicting reports as to weather you can be self employed on the IEC Visa, Any help would be appreciated!

Conn's Cameras on Clarendon St, Dublin specialise in taking Canadian/US visa pics and guarantee that they are the right size. They charge €15 but at least you'll have them and you won't need to worry. They open late on Thursdays... I got mine done there yesterday, just for piece of mind!

when you get your full Irish convert it to UK.

i heard that that doesnt work if you havnt been driving in the UK / if its just issued to you before you go over.

if you have the full irish licence you can skip onto the equivalent of the 2nd provisional over there, so it is worth having your full licence before you go over. afaik

i think they are in the process of coming to some arrangement where you can swap a full irish for full canadian licence

you can get an international driving permit(like i did) ,which is valid in canada,have a look at link below:
