    Everything is fine to here.

Excpet when it askes for the network key. I presumed this was the passphrase for the wifi? 8 letter code. Says it's wrong?

    Any ideas?

    I'm with UPC.

It depends what encryption you're using. Make sure the printer supports whatever you have on the router (WEP/WPA). There is (probably) also option to use PIN or quick setup button - refer to router/printer manual for details.

Are you sure that you selected your network and not your neighbours?

    100%

Also there's an option to do it by pressing a "WPS" button?

Is this the wireless setup button on the router or is that just for initially connecting the internet?

Yes press the Wireless Setup button on the router when the printer setup asks you to. The printer should then add itself to the network. Press it for at least 4/5 seconds. The printer setup wizard will likely pick up on this automatically and continue the install procedure

You might have to switch WPS option in router setup and then use the button.

What router do you have? Thomsom / cisco / something else?

(Look in wifi options if you don't need detailed step-by-step instruction)

    Not sure what this means.

But in wifi the security type is WPA - personal.

And the network security key is the one I entered before and didn't work.

Check sticker on the router - what brand is it?

    There are 3 routers here:

    http://support.upc.ie/app/answers/detail/a_id/406/~/change-wireless-password

    Which one is yours?

The right column, top option: "WPS Config : enable".
I think you should also give it a name (Device Name)
    Then click "Apply" below.

Do you know how to access the config page of the router?

    OK

Type 192.168.1.1 in the address bar of whatever browser you're using.

You'll be asked to login. The default username (login) / password are blank.

    Done :)

Is this for the push button set up or the other wifi set up?

Push Button setup, push button on the router when requested to do so

It's me again. This time I have am connecting to the eircom internet.

How do I do this? Do I have to install the cd again?

Or how do I allow it to connect to two different connections automatically?

The security key for your broadband router is likely on a sticker underneath the router

Yes but how do I connect it? Do I do something on my laptop? Printer? Do I install the CD again?

First make sure the wireless switch on the laptop is switched on. Then in the bottom right hand corner (next to the clock) you should see a network icon, click on this to view available networks. Choose your network and input the security key

Not sure if that's right. Nothing showing up only my wifi.

Do I install the cd again?

And if I do will I have to install it again if I go back to my other wifi connection?

I'm a bit confused here, did you get a new router? You don't use the CD to install the broadband (that is likely a user manual) but the security code should connect your laptop to the router/internet

No no you got me wrong.

I've brought my printer to another place and am trying to use the wireless on the printer to print. How do I connect the printer to the wireless.

You will need to re-configure the printer for the other places wifi connection. The printers CD will probably assist you in doing this. If you are going to be returning to your other wifi connection location, I wouldn't bother trying to connect it wirelessly at the new location, as this will wipe out the wireless settings of your other location and require re-configuration when you return
