Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Weird Mini ipad

    Hi all,
My sister, who isn't great on techie stuff at all, got a new Mini ipad at Christmas. She lives in Greece and was trying to get some help with it from me but what she was saying didn't make sense. I called her on Skype the other day and her ipad is loaded with professional looking photos, music albums and books and the calendar is full of appointments. Also, every so often an ad for the Mini ipad just pops up out of nowhere.

She bought it from a reputable store (if there's such a thing in Greece these days!) and the only thing I could think of is that it was some sort of demo model, but I've not seen a demo model before so I don't know.

    Any ideas?

It sounds like its in some sort of demo mode, from what I've seen in Apple stores/resellers. If I were her I'd bring it back to the shop and get a replacement.

You could reset the thing possible, like a full factory reset. Usually with these types of things they have demo software loaded onto them and a reset usually does the trick. I've only ever tried this with non-apple products so I could be completely wrong.

If it were me I'd bring it back and get a new one, if i was spending 330 quid on an iPad I'd want it unused in the plastic!

Her husband bought it, but he's not really much good with tech stuff either. Like everywhere, there were huge shortages everywhere but he managed to get his hand on this one. I've told her to bring it back. There should be a few knocking around now.
