I am seriously considering in doing a postgraduate in MSc in Innovation, Commercialisation & Entrepreneurship next year.

Has anybody done or is doing this course?

What are the employment opportunities/prospects having completed this course?

    Is it worth it?

    Thanks

Hi, hope I've caught you in time. This course is a bit of a waste I would avoid at all costs. No value for money here. Really depends what you want to do? But I dont think it really adds to job prospects! You wont specialize in any area, its just a nice line for the CV in the end of the day!

Thanks so much for your reply. I got this feedback from one or two other people I talked to. They said it was a very general course. They said it would be a good course if you wanted to set up a business or something...Did you complete the course?

I don't get this comment at all. Nice line for a CV is pretty much the reason that anybody does a taught masters. ICE is a conversion course so like a lot of taught MBS/MSc programmes it is about adding another string to the bow of the participant e.g. a science major who wants to learn about commercialisation.

As for value for money... I don't know what the fees are but UCC postgrads (particularly those that are funded by the NDP) offer good value for money. Check out the cost differential between the MBS in Electronic Business in UCC Vs UCD. And then check out both Vs any university in the US.

For the record (and in the interest of full disclosure), I am a lecturer in UCC (BIS). I don't teach on ICE and know very little of the course. I do think that we have a number of better programmes on offer in BIS including the MBS in ISBP, eBusiness, MIMAS as well as the afore-mentioned IEB (which I would do myself if I had my time over!).

Hi sorry for dragging up an old post but I'm interested in msc in isbp.
How difficult is this course considering it's aimed at non-IT grads?
And difficulty of group project at end of year?
Guess I'm asking is it worth 10k!?:)
    Thks
