I know, I've over 70 pics, selecting a handful was tough. Hopefully this winter we will get a similar event.

I noticed that too. Glad to know I'm still relatively sane. Or maybe we're both losing it?

Would air temp of 3.3 and DP of -1.1 be conducive to snow? Anticipating that precip coming towards East Coast and those are the current conditions near coast where I am....

System pushing NW over UK over past hour would be tidy if it continued as is & made it out over Anglesey & beyond

I don't know if I like the shift though. Just as the showers from Wales were getting going. Hopefully short term pain for long term gain.

Snowing very lightly in D24 . ground is very wet so doubt it will stick .

Don;t worry about wet ground. There seems to be a myth going around that snow will have a better chance sticking to a dry ground than a wet ground. It's completely untrue. The wet ground is a symptom of melting snow, not the cause. Correlation not equal to causation and all that. Get proper snow and the temp low enough and it will stick to anything!

I say every bloody year that I must buy a weather station!!! The app on my phones tells me its 3c in Rush (I'm in Lusk however...), the wind has picked up a lot but no sign of precipitation of any description, doubt it would be snow anyway with that temp, actually feels milder out too since earlier today - I do always remember though my Mother saying its gets milder before snow :pac:

How's South Tipp looking for a covering tonight?

  • Registered Users Posts: 8,061 ✭✭✭irishfeen

    Where are you exactly irishfeen?
About 8 miles SW of Mallow, its threatening to get heavier but only spitting a few flakes, just back from Mallow town and nothing at all to be seen in there. About 2degC of a difference between Mallow town and here.
