    New warning issued from met.ie

    Warnings

    Weather Warning

    Issued at 20 January 2013 - 22:17
    Snow
Eastern counties of Ulster and Leinster will experience wintry showers overnight and during Monday. Near the coast the showers will mainly fall as sleet, with any snow quickly melting on the ground. However, further inland, and especially on higher ground, snow will tend to accumulate to depths of 3 to 8cm.

Also, in west Munster, and possibly southern parts of Connacht, rain and sleet will turn to snow inland with accumulations of 5 to 10 cm, and up to 15 cm in the Kerry and Cork mountains.

    Valid 22:00 Sunday 20th January to 16:00 Monday 21st January 2013

Looks like a write-off here. Temp 2.3C and rising by the looks of it. No precip at all today really, and based on the forecasts I don't expect any for most of this week. Dare I say it, roll on summer at this stage.

With a temp of almost 4 degrees, it will be sleet at best.
    So frustrating!

2.5c where I am - not cold enough even though I had some snow flurries today.
I still can't understand Siobhan relentless Ryan's forecast tonight of lying snow by morning. Lets hope ME know something that we don't!

Don't worry, I'm not getting my hopes up. The lads in Dundalk are getting sweet FA from much more intense looking streamers all day long. I just thought I'd make a bit of a joke about Bray being the centre of a streamer rather than the usual centre of a shadow for once :D

Still snowing lightly out my way.

Last shower left a dusting on flat surfaces, also dragged the temp and dewpoint down by half a degree.

Surely Louth and that is seeing moderate snowfall at this rate??

Further south, meh, the precip is too light to produce anything other than snizzly sleet, snow grains or very light small snowflakes.

Will give it another while to try really intensify, but the Irish sea just isn't functioning like we know it can tbh.

Fingers crossed for Ye all. As I'm in the leeway of the Wicklow mountains, I can safely write off anything for my location other than the laughable sleety stuff currently falling. So good luck to you all. :D

Sidenote; I know it's not the place, but gbee, if you're reading this, please reconsider closing your account. Another good poster bites the dust. :(
    not another one

Bit too early to be writing off the winter at this stage.

Its getting heavier here anyway and if it keeps up at this rate you never know, still marginal enough as not sticking properly yet.

I thought you would be getting heavy enough snow across all of Kerry, from the radar the whole county is covered.

Feel like giving up ..... Won't get any snow...... So frustrating when you see the lovely pics of snow in GBritiain on the daily mail on line. :(

    Nothing happening in Slane. :(
That big system off the west coast doesn't seem to be making any headway either.

Has just gotten heavier here now this past 20mins, not much up to that but farranfore is inland and at low elevation.

  • Registered Users Posts: 74 ✭✭justy182

Been getting constant streamers all day long of snow but no accumulations at this level. In fact the last one that showed on the radar has been all rain not even sleet. So we are not doing too well here either at the Mo so don't worry.
