Has just gotten heavier here now this past 20mins, not much up to that but farranfore is inland and at low elevation.
29m ASL is very low so there is hope for the rest of us as long as it keeps pushing inland. I'm at 175m ASL so it looks good for accumulation if it does reach us.

Feel like giving up ..... Won't get any snow...... So frustrating when you see the lovely pics of snow in GBritiain on the daily mail on line. :(

Seems like parts of Cavan, Tyrone and Wicklow have as much as over there. Once again it seems the Wicklow mountains have almost more snow than anywhere in uk. They never seize to amaze me. Better get some proper snow in the east tonight

.... its like the front is fizzling out on a Mallow/Cork City line, don't know why.

  • Registered Users Posts: 3,016 ✭✭✭lilmissprincess

Any hope of it moving over to hit Cork city?

  • Registered Users Posts: 197 ✭✭pp_me

    I blame Cork's snow shield!

  • Registered Users Posts: 89 ✭✭noobsnow95

do you think it will reach limerick city :/

  • Registered Users Posts: 11,134 ✭✭✭✭maquiladora

You are just going to have to be patient in the east. :P

As already posted, Met Eireann put out a new warning tonight for 3-8cm inland from the coast, higher ground the better. The warning is for 10pm tonight until 4pm tomorrow. It's not even 11pm yet so there is a long way to go on that.

They wouldn't have put out a new warning tonight if the latest models didn't suggest it was going to happen. The hi res UKMO model doesn't show stronger precip getting going until early Monday morning anyway.

    Just don't expect too much. This isn't 2010. :)

Because it's going more southeast than east.

Been snizzling on and off here in Ballycullen/Firhouse near Tallaght for the last 30 minutes.......

I've been out snow-whispering (i.e. looking at the lamp-post and whispering, "come on, you know you want to, come on!!!")

Seems to be working for now LOL

UTV weather gave snow for all parts of northern ireland through early hours and into tomorrow. Nothing at the minute but can see something spreading from wales

Now I know how the guys in the IOM shadow felt in 2010. Celbridge in north Kildare here and all the streamers seem to be above or below me :(

    How accurate is this site?

Currently the D.P in Shankill is -3.9 (Temp 2.7) but a mile away in Loughlinstown the D.P is 0 (as is Bray!) I'm assuming the Shankill reading is incorrect!

Is it predicted that this will happen throughout the night?

    Well said.

I bet you have your eye on the 00z and 03z frames of the UKMO H/R for tonight ;)

Snowing heavy Delgany now....snizzle for previous three hours...there is hope!!
5 mins later .........ack.....snizzle again with big flakes mixed

After "relentless" graupel all day. We now have a clear, starry sky. Hopefully drying up for snow, as the old saying goes. The UKMO have upgraded the weather in my postcode to heavy snow all night, from midnight. It was sleet to clear spells earlier. They also have a regional weather warning back up.

    Ok

    The facts!

    Ballycullen/Firhouse/Tallaght

    Temp is currently 1 C

    Dewpoint is -1C

    So it MUST snow tonight.

I feel your pain, I'm up the road in Parklands. We normally get a pasting in these parts. Plenty if time still.
