gutted. was really looking forward to a snowy cycle to work :(
Just as I left the house, it was snowing nice and heavily, if a bit wet. Snowed all the way from D14 to Parkwest, D12, although the last 2 km or so was graupel, nasty on the ould face. Slushy roads from about walkinstown, before that it was lovely.
Can't wait to cycle home again!!!!!!!

At a guess I'd say it's not cold enough. The breeze coming off the sea is actually quite mild. The 2010 event happened at night when it was much much colder. I'm set for a day of bracing winds & icy rain.

Probably a bit late, but anyone going to work should leave early. There's reports of delayed bus journeys around the city. Anyone driving, take care as there is slush around, even in the City Centre, that is not very visible and you could be easily caught out.

    Yeah but double the usual

It's nice when you get snow and you're not expecting it! This time around I was very patient I think!

Blanch isn't a million miles away from Swords so it should be heavy there.

Yep, hearing the traffic is terrible around south Dublin and on all of the exits on the M50 (Tallaght, Firhouse, Dundrum etc). Suprising but apparently some cars are already struggling in the conditions.

    Snowing again here in Clonsilla
Everywhere is white... nice to look at.

Saw a few very careful bmw drivers with the wheels spinning already so its pretty lethal driving...

Proper snow again here by the looks of it - just started again in the last 2 mins

  • Registered Users Posts: 17,187 ✭✭✭✭IvySlayer

Some decent snow covering in Lucan, started to snow again a bit heavier.

  • Registered Users Posts: 2,855 ✭✭✭Nabber

The line between Snow and rain is so fine that 100mtrs at the same ASL could be snow in one place and rain in another.

    Snowing in Portobello

Swords is on the coast, Blanch is probably at least 7miles inland. They are very short showers so far lasting about 10min, hardly sticky blizzard stuff yet.

All I have here is a few scraps on the ground from last night and 4 flakes floating around!

  • Registered Users Posts: 287 ✭✭neddynono

    I've climbed the highest mountains
Once or twice but whose counting
    But nothing compares to these
    White and snowy Wicklow hills

Here you go. Dublin 15 near Meath border.

  • Registered Users Posts: 14,296 ✭✭✭✭Cienciano

Big flakes were falling in clondalkin at around 8am and it was sticking, but very wet flakes. The closer to the city centre I got the less snow. Just wet in the city :(
