have the choice of staying in bray or heading to sligo for the weekend, any idea where i'm more likely to see some snow, in the east or in the west? still raining here in bray.

Just bits of sleet and snow falling now in d. 15. Maybe tonight.

Wow, just having a burst of really quite heavy snow now in Meath - lovely jubbly :D Not sticking but if it keeps up...

Rain with a small bit of sleet in Sandymount. If it was falling as snow it would be blizzard conditions.
car reads 2.5c. But would take that with a pinch of salt. As i type this the street lights came back on.

Very wet in Dublin City Centre and southern suburbs...icy rain and intermittent sleet, it has to be one of the most miserable mornings in a good while.

Its a drop of water with light shining through it......

Pishing rain in Dublin port, not that much else is to be expected here yet, sleety aul stuff though, not your standard rain..

Lashing rain in Balbriggan with the odd flurry of snow thrown in.
More likely to flood then snowdrift.

    Snow sticking in stepaside apparently!

How high up are you? inland or away from the coast?? Is it sticking?
Five miles away from the coast, high up and the snow is on the car outside and beginning to stick on slated roofs across from me. :D Ah feck it, it is turning wetter now.

So has this front stalled? Is it weakening? Is it due to pivot? To my very untrained eye the only SE to NW activity seems to be pushing rain in a streamer over the north of tyhe Antrim coast.

Must be bad over there, just got a message from a relative who has just had to cancel his travel plans for this afternoon / evening due to snow in London. He was to be flying over.

Woke up to the velux window covered in snow (just outside Cavan town) at 7am, was pelting it down and starting to cover cars and the grass. All gone now - turned to sleet and the decent bits of snow were falling on wet ground - still was lovely to watch while it lasted.

    Precipitation type at 8.35 (Blue= Rain/Green= Sleet / Red = Snow)

Where di you get the precipitation type graphic?

  • Registered Users Posts: 11,134 ✭✭✭✭maquiladora

Seems fairly unimpressive at low levels from reports so far. DP's struggling to get to 0. Unless they start dropping then it's going to be a sleety affair.

Typical, Britain and the North get lots of snow and we get feck all?:D
