This is very marginal folks left Dundalk earlier nothing there came home just 12 miles away in south armagh to an absolute whiteout

not to be a d(%k but I grew up in New England where we get massive (1ft plus) snowstorms every winter. You have no idea what a real "whiteout" is

This snow has come at a price NO SKY SIGNAL

if it's within stick or broom reach - clear any snow on the LNB which faces the dish (it's the part that sticks out on the arm) - and it should work again.

grass starting to turn white now! which is amazing considering the ground is covered in water.

you be suprised at how readily proper snow will stick to wet ground. I remember an event years ago, somewhere around 91/92, where it rained for hours and there were puddles and flooding everywhere. Then within an hour it went from sleet to heavy snow, flakes the size of pancakes, and covered everything, puddles included.

Bit too early to say yet. Chances look better than today but might still be marginal in places and there may not be a lot of precip.

Just back from Roundwood, big thaw on up there at the moment. Was 90:10 maybe rain snow mix. More snow higher up toward Kilmacanogue along the R755. Doesnt fill me with much (read any) hope down here in Loughlinstown for tonight at least.
Up by Sally Gap must be unreal amounts.

I'm very sceptical but i live in hope. We need to get the colder air in from the east and north.

Howth up to 1.6c after a positive fall to 1.2c

Indeed, a warm sector is involved with behind this front.

Lets hope it can stall and head south. The mild sector will be filled out over night by colder air.
