As very much an outsider tonight but I thought worth a post,

Those showers coming in from the West could continue through the Southern half of the country. As temps are falling ahead of it, there is a very small chance that this ppn could turn to snow in places like North Cork etc.
It's not far off a frost here in Cork at the moment so we would be in a better position that Western areas this evening.

Just a little thought, and small small chance

come on tell us it will make it as far as waterford!!!!!!!!

As an example of this, Moorepark in North Cork is down to 1C at 8pm!!
Clearing skies ahead of that showery front could tip the balance!!

You look clear as a bell. Nauseatingly slow rotation, if indeed any, just promises a good looking blast just creeping over the border, look out your window, it's snowing on you.

If the rotation keeps going, you might get a good bit.

Has been snowing at sea level in NE Donegal since about 3pm, but its only really started to lay in the last 30 minutes. A good half inch on the wet ground in the last 30 minutes, reminiscent of the 26th of November 2010 when it was very wet and the snow didn't lay until well after dark but when it did it lay for 30 days up here.

at 72hrs, snow moving across the country
We now have agreement between all 3 models that Ireland will get atlantic snowfall on Monday.
When last has this happened ??

This happened in Dec 2010. 4th December I think? A warm front crossed the northern half of Ireland but as the "warm" front had merely -5 degree 850hPa temps behind it, it fell almost entirely as snow for most areas.

I cannot see any snow falling or lying anywhere in the south over the next few days. The temperatures in the east have been about 1 or 2 degrees and even here snow is not lying - except in abundance in higher suburbs and on high ground....

    Snowing away still here :)
10-15cm drifting to a bit more in places.
Snow as taken down our telephone and esb wires, esb wire went of fire then for a good show so no power for maybe 24 hours.
    Gotta love the snow :)

It's got warmer by about half a degree in Rathnew/Wicklow in the last hour... Far from convinced it will snow on the coast here tonight.
