Looks like something coming in alright. They may get to me as one section tracks north of the Mournes. Got nought so far. Snow shield big time. 3 degrees here now and very dry

Not for today, sunday night into monday morning im almost sure there will be some precip just not sure what it will fall as of yet!I think it may fall as rain or sleet but snow is possible.

I sense some IMBY negativity here! But whatever happens, 1) the showers look light 2) the temperature is still apparently a little too high.

    Currently 2.0c outside here.

I think in fairness to people, its now 2pm in the day, -8oC upper temps are over a lot of us yet the temperature is +2oC and there ain't no sign of snow.

This period is now shaping up to go down as one of the most hyped up non snow events in Ireland, and it pains me to say this. In a nutshell, the problem is this - the upper cold will be over most of us later today but there will be no precipitation. You could not write it ! :D

    M2 buoy at 2pm: temp 4.0, DP -0.8

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 5,362 ✭✭✭Trotter

DP of 1.9 and Temp 3.4 here 8 miles from the Waterford coast. Drizzle and low cloud. I'd imagine if the DP goes below 0 tonight, that cloud cover might produce something nice.

if it's within stick or broom reach - clear any snow on the LNB which faces the dish (it's the part that sticks out on the arm) - and it should work again.

Or if it's high use a water pistol with hot water.... while making machine gun noises

Is there a chance that they could gather more energy. Still need dewpoints to be lower along the coast though. Could they drop by 2 before those showers land?

They sure can. The thundersnow that kicked off the 2010 event started about 10pm if I remember correctly.

Yeah it's mainly down to temp difference of the air vs water.

Hard to know everything looks a little messy... Would like to see the temp of m2 buoy drop a little more, with all the cold air about I would of thought it would be a bit lower by now...

The snow line is 800m, clouds just cleared off Sliabh Mish now and a white cap on it, Dingle is always balmy, not looking good for snow there tomorrow night but you never know.

Nah they'll be at this level until 6ish then drop further after that.

Howth looking better by the minute.

    2.1c/0.4c

Hopefully get the DP to -0.5c before any of that precip hits

  • Registered Users Posts: 2,855 ✭✭✭Nabber

My station is showing DP 0c. Temp 2.8c. The DP dropping is mostly due to humidity dropping from 94% down to86%
When it is cold enough for snow, there will be no precip.

I'll keep the faith that a streamer heads my way.

In Dublin 4, between the strand and ballsbridge.

Hopefully. But the dewpoint is currently 0.9. Would want to be lower.

A few flakes of snow falling in Naas - minimal amounts, but clouds look laden with snow...

Should I be excited looking at what coming in from the northeast of Dublin and the falling DPs in Howth??

Right now, it's a toss up between looking out the window or watching the Liverpool match???

I hope he sees it again tonight so...

Thanks for anwering my Q guys..:)
