    Hi ,

I just want to check something out for my aunt , basically she gave my cousin a laptop for christmas and now wants to check up on what he's being doing with it !

For some reason she's convinced he's playing games when he's meant to be doing his homework , he's saying that he needs the laptop to research his CSPE project
So she asked me to find out if there's a way of checking which programs were used on the computer at a specific time ?

    Cheers

If you go into Control Panel>Programs & Features it says when the program was last used. Not very accurate though. Without installing a monitoring software there is very little you can do to see what people have been doing on the laptop.
You could try checking the internet history (if it hasn't been wiped) for times on how long has been spent doing actual project research, and then on Facebook, Twitter etc.

I don't know your cousin, but I'm convinced he's probably looking at porn when he's supposed to be doing his homework.

My advice: Tell your Auntie there's nothing to track what he's doing and that she should make him study in front of her if she's that concerned.

    1 Click on Start
    2 Click My Computer
    3 Click "C" Drive
    4 Click On Tools
    5 Click on Folder Options
    6 Click on View
7 Put a Tick on Show Hidden files
    8 Close that window
9 Click on Documents and Settings
    10 Click on his username
11 Scrol down and find Recent Documents
There is a list of all he has used on computer

When done go back and remove the tick on show hidden files
