Mortgage from UK bank for Irish Property?

    Anyone know if its possible to get a mortgage from a UK bank for an Irish property?

    Two Irish nationals living in UK for 10 years and both working in public sector employment. Looking at flat for about 70k around Galway county and will have at least 10% deposit.

    Highly unlikely, too difficult for them to repossess if necessary.

    If you can put up a UK property as security I imagine it might be possible but as stated above, the property itself in Galway is no good as security to a UK bank, especially with the track record of the Irish property market over the past few years.

    At this stage they've all seen the TV programs about ghost estates and NAMA so it's unlikely they'll entertain anything over here as security.

    Thanks for the reply. Have two properties in UK so was kind of hoping could use this as security
