Are those the things that look like a piece of string across the road with a stick on either side? The first time I saw one of those I thought it was a land mine or something :(
.....looks around...steps gingerly over it....breathes a sigh of relief...

Posted this on "Adverts you despise" but I feel it should be here too!

The Aldi ad where the annoying bint saves seventy five euro. He's all like, "oh I'm never going to another shop again unless someone gives me 75 euro to do so" - wtf? Why would anyone give him 75euro to go to another shop? I'm sure nobody cares. And as if that's not annoying enough, he then says "you ask me why I go to Aldi? I'll give you seventy five reasons why" - raaaaaaaaar!!! :( That makes no sense! You saved 75 euro, thats ONE reason ok? ONE! It's NOT "seventy five reasons"!!!! :(

Why is it that the showers in a gym are always operated by one of those excruciatingly annoying button yokes. I understand that they are hoping to save hot water but seriously 5-10 seconds and then nada??? How come golfers can be trusted to turn off a shower when they are finished? My favourite part of any training session is a nice refreshing shower afterwards. I have already had my work-out thanks, I do not want to be pounding the shower button like some demented Mike Tyson impersonator.

There's a marketing opportunity for someone being missed methinks.

People who refer to a pair of scissors as "a scissors"! Get the fuck out of here. It's a PAIR of scissors....
The noun "scissors" is treated as a plural noun, and therefore takes a plural verb ("these scissors are"). Alternatively, this tool is also referred to as "a pair of scissors". In American English, "a pair" is singular and therefore takes a singular verb ("this pair of scissors is"). In British English, "a pair" does not take the singular ("this pair of scissors are"). The word shears is used to describe similar instruments that are larger in size and for heavier cutting. Opinions vary geographically as to the size at which 'scissors' become 'shears', but this is often at between six to eight inches (about 15 to 20 cm) in length.

And people who never used the word "to". They say things like "I wasn't allowed do that" or "he shouldn't be allowed go the shops". It's a two fucking letter word, use it!

I couldn't really say to them in the restaurant "Take these away and bring me some Blenders sachets!", :pac:

I think your understanding of a restaurant and mine are very different..:pac:

Best before dates and use by dates. How did we manage to survive back in the 1970's and 1980's without all this molly coddling? If it had lumps in it or was sour, drink it, it will put hair on your chest and make you a man, that's what we were told growing up, there was none of this pansy assed, wussy assed stuff we have to endure today.

And this is why life expectancy is constantly going up. Because we learned that this is a bad thing to do.

nurses and doctors keep revising upwards the date i'll be allowed leave the hospital. going to be here for another week now.

its hard to get that annoyed because they're only doing it to give me a proper chance to heal, and that knowledge that I really shouldn't be getting annoyed by it is itself annoying me.

And everyone in the 1970's and 1980's died a week later after drinking milk that was a bit iffy.

Here we are bitching about our little problems while poor Digby is laid up in hospital with some real reasons for letting off some steam.

I hope you get well soon Sir and can get back to bitching about trivial issues very soon.

Three things about aldi and lidl that annoy me.

    1. The stale bread smell in the shops

    2. Trying to get out when I havent purchaced anything.

    3. Only ever 1 or 2 tills open. always a choc-a-blok line

Totally agree, it was easier getting out of Alcatraz, The Maze and Colditz.

Also, no shopping baskets. It's either a trolley or the plastic shopping bag you remembered to bring with you. You did remember to bring a plastic shopping bag with you?

No more than 2 members of staff on duty at any time and there's a queue of 20 people standing at one checkout.

No 5 items of less checkout. Remember those?

i'd been reading before the surgery that involuntary erections were still possible while knocked under from anesthesia. first thing I did when coming to after the surgery, still woozy from the drugs, was ask the attractive female nurse if I had an erection

    she didn't seem very impressed.

Do you mean impressed with the question or impressed by the erection?

I hope the question or I'll be transferring from the burn ward straight to counselling

instead of counselling ask for a transfer to the prosthesis ward and tell them to strap something on!
