People who change their name on Facebook to Irish, i know a lot of them who wouldn't have 2 words of Irish let alone pronounce their new name.

I know for some alright it's just to be an arse, but for others who would be dealing with the public, it just adds that layer of privacy the way their profile won't show up in a Google search.

Yes of course Facebook has it's own privacy settings etc, but I wouldn't rely on Facebook alone to protect my privacy, they've been known to reset profile privacy settings to all open in the past.

Hi Czarcasm thanks for replying on the late 80s/90s dance thread, I didn't want to reply on that actual thread because its just takes too long to load up and when you reply and post it has to reload all over again.

If you want to get into it, you got to get out of it. (Hawkwind 1982)

I hate the fact that despite peace in the island of Ireland for 15+ years, it's still not possible to discuss Sinn Fein without obvious and unfunny "jokes" about terrorism and violence.

People seem to have forgotten all atrocities apart from the ones committed by the IRA.

For instance, there isn't the same reaction to the British government despite many atrocities and injustices perpetrated on their behalf over the years.

My point is not that Sinn Fein are saints, it's that the unionists (the real victims of IRA violence) have moved on yet people in the south fall over themselves with fake moral outrage about it

They were intended for removable covers i think, like a pillow cover. they are just annoying now as clothing just sticks to it esp fleeces.

    Focus stealing windows. *****.

This concept shouldn't exist. Never should a window come to the fore without the user clicking on the tab and new windows should be started in the background if there has been any other activity since they have been launched.

I'm sick of being informed a compile failed because I've stuck a line of IM conversation into a variable name.

Gah. Definitely something Windows does better than Linux.

I had a youtube ad that waited until I was 40s into the video and THEN it started playing. Interrupting my fcuking song. Last time I ever turn off ABP!

I was queueing in Madrid airport a few years back and two Irish fellas just ahead of me in the queue got chatting about their experience of the local language. Then out of nowhere one of them pipes up 'oh sure I'm a Gaelgoir you know'. It sounded like he couldn't wait to tell yer man that. Amadán.

When you're waiting to cross at a pedestrian crossing and the traffic stops because it's backed up at the junction but you are rooted to the spot in fear and cannot cross because the cars might move...but you just end up looking like a knob because the traffic is not moving and you're not moving...

What's the matter with you? You're a Dub ffs! Just walk out in front of the cars. They'll all stop.

    I swear. :pac:

Actually that reminds me, we were going for lunch a while back and trying to cross Westmoreland street. Wasn't happening so the guy that was with us said, "watch this" and started crossing the road doing a skang*r/zombie limp and holding up his hands to "stop" the cars. He did it really slowly too (as they do) and...the cars all stopped! Priceless :D

The likes of "selfie". Well here's a thing - how about I drive my boot a mile up your fuckan hole-ie??:mad::mad: :D

People who acquire something for its bling value e.g. PS 4, boast about it, and use it for playing some game all the time, which could just as well be played on a 200 euro tablet or lesser spec'd device

We prefer to consider it in terms of what exactly constitutes your Earth-concept of "work" for someone who is essentially paid to think?? :D

That's more of it. All the childer are going around with what was not too long ago considered a supercomputer in their pockets. They've got Grand Theft Carnage Pornfest III - Return of the Son of the Sequel Of and Kevin knows what else. I remember when the sight of a hint of what, in bad light, could be thought to be a badly pixellated nip-nip in the ZX Spectrum version of Sam Fox's Strip-Poker was the height of Oo-er, Lawks Missus! :D
