Is there a way you can check what windows updates are installed on a windows xp machine?

Goto start settings control panel, Add Remove programs.
    Click the 'show updates' button.

If you know the KB number for the update, then inside windows directory, the install process for the updates drops a KB log file.

    example c:\windows\KB1234567.log

    type
