Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

The referee has been terrible today, yet it won't get much attention because it's Manchester United who are winning the game.

    On.
    Penalty.

I made a point of watching Kagawa all game, he always takes up fantastic positions. Unfortunately there isnt someone willing to try the tough pass to pick him out. Welbeck could have set him out twice with relatively simple balls too.

He's still adapting, I think, and hope, he'll become a force for us.

I'd give Rooney a 4 for that dive. No conviction

    Really?

I'd give him a 0, considering it wasn't dive. I'd love to see the reaction in here had that been Dempsey down the other end.

Looks like the not given penalty count is 1-1 now. That was nailed on.

    Poor from Rooney.,

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 12,694 ✭✭✭✭machiavellianme

    Really?

Definitely. After the replay it looked like he was off the ground, had both knees bent before contact. Then he had nowhere to go but down. He could've at least waited till contact was made before throwing himself to the ground.

Tired ball from Jones. reckon himself and welbeck ill be off soon

Good man. Barrel on in the face of conclusive evidence. It's what the internet is made for.

the ref had such a good view of it too - how is it not given?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 11,906 ✭✭✭✭PhlegmyMoses

    What are you on about?

Are you talking about the Defoe shot that may or may not have hit Ferdinand's arm from 5 yards away?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 16,038 ✭✭✭✭niallo27

That was no pen for me for Rooney and I'm completely neutral.

    Blatant peno re Rooney.

You gotta love Wellbeck's effort but his end product is often poor.

Rooney not even trying off the ball

No although that could have been or not. The only difference between that and the Dempsey one was that Dempsey is confident enough to try and get his shot away despite contact, whereas Rooney was only too happy to throw himself to the floor the second he got into the box and was touched. Outside the box and Rooney stays on his feet.

    Good clearance Defoe.
