Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Radical militants attack civilians with weapons from Obama's Gulf allies

Hard-line Islamic jihadists have been indiscriminately shelling unarmed civilians with weapons provided by Obama's Persian Gulf allies.
DAMASCUS — Syrian Kurds urged the opposition on Saturday to halt a siege against them by Islamist rebels, as the UN condemned the killing of dozens of children across the country over the past week.

The Kurdish National Council, a pro-opposition umbrella group of Syrian Kurdish parties, condemned what it said was an ongoing assault "against unarmed civilians" by jihadist insurgents on the northern town of Ras al-Ain.

It said the rebels, who came across the border from Turkey, were shelling the town indiscriminately, and called on the main opposition National Coalition and the Free Syrian Army to "pressure these militants to stop this criminal war which is detrimental to the Syrian revolution."

Earlier reports indicate that most of the money and weapons shipped to Syria from Obama's Gulf allies goes straight into the hands of the hard-liners.
WASHINGTON — Most of the arms shipped at the behest of Saudi Arabia and Qatar to supply Syrian rebel groups fighting the government of Bashar al-Assad are going to hard-line Islamic jihadists, and not the more secular opposition groups that the West wants to bolster, according to American officials and Middle Eastern diplomats.

    ...

“The opposition groups that are receiving the most of the lethal aid are exactly the ones we don’t want to have it,” said one American official...

As a result, the FSA have conceded they would be sunk without the help of the radical elements of the opposition.
“We need them in order to win this fight,” said one commander in Liwa al-Tawhid, the main FSA group fighting in Aleppo. “Jabhat al-Nusra has more money and more support than we do.”

So the KNC are wasting their time looking to the FSA for help, because the FSA is clearly not leading the fight against Assad. The KNC need to talk directly with Obama and ask him to tell his Persian Gulf allies to stop supplying the terrorists with weapons, because it's clear from previous reports that Obama has enough influence over Saudi Arabia and Qatar to bar them from armimg the hard-liners.
While they have publicly called for arming the rebels, they have held back, officials in both countries said, in part because they have been discouraged by the United States...
Khalid al-Attiyah, a state minister for foreign affairs in Qatar. Providing the rebels with heavier weapons “has to happen,” ... “But first we need the backing of the United States, and preferably the U.N.”
Saudi officials ... said the United States was not barring them from providing shoulder-fired missiles, but warning about the risks.

Sadly Obama continues to allow his Gulf allies to arm the radical jihadists, even though the weapons are being used to slaughter unarmed civilians.

Assad has long charged that he is in a fight against foreign terrorists aided by the West and Syria's Persian Gulf foes, and to be fair he has a point.

Another anti-western.propaganda thread by a liar(see His/her recent "Aleppo thread where it cherry picked tweets in order to claim a massacre against the rebels) Second one today

The Al-nusra front have had some clashes with the Independent Kurdish brigades in this mixed population town
There the Kurdish spokesman claim that the Al-nusra front have been targeted indiscriminately targeted civilians(from your first link). Leaving that aside

Can you Name the weapons Al-Nusra used?

Show that these weapons or indeed any Weapons of this sort/type where provided to Al-Nusra by the Gulf states?

Also please explain the following and this is the crucial bit why
the KSA and Qatar would supply weapons to their enemy, Jihadi Salafis Al-Qaeda emerging arm in Syria and outgrowth of Al-Qaeda in Iraq?????!!??!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!
    !?!?!?!?!?!?????????????!??!??!??!????????!!!!!!!!!!!??????

    The KSA is Al-Qaeda's sworn
BTW your other NYT link reports that they have supplied weapons
to the opposition does not say they armed the Al -Nursa front.
There are other Islamic units inside and outside the Umbrella of the FSA
who they are backing I hope this helps
I understand that your knowledge of geo-politics and Islamic militants is limited.
A useful generalization is that Islamism is the superset, and Salafis, Jihadis, Al-Qaeda are successive subsets. Salafis are Islamists but not all Islamists are Salafis. Jihadis are Salafis but not all Salafis are Jihadis. Al-Qaeda are Jihadi Salafis but not all Jihadi Salafis are Al-Qaeda.
Essentially if KSA & Qatar are funding any rebel party, it would be the FSA(there are islamic units in the FSA) itself rather than the Jihadi Salafis or Al-Qaeda. And if Salafi Jihadis are getting any support from KSA (which I doubt) it would be from individual donors, not the state.
There is also the point that KSA/qatar AID is minimal only a tiny fraction of what is required.

So in this Instance your entire OP is completely wrong and your little ode to Assad at the end is heart warming.

There is NO,ZERO public state money/arms coming for KSA or Qatar for AL-Nursa front there may be some private money coming from various shady sources.

KSA/qatar and Al-nursa front are enemies

In the general sense of the war
Obama should began arming the secular and Islamic-lite rebels to the poiint where they can bring the regime to ditch the assad clan and neogate their surrender to the people,
and try and stop or curtail any money or arms flowing to the Salafists minority

Another anti-western.propaganda thread by a liar

Enough with the personal attacks, they don't bolster your argument.

Your contention that this is anti-western propaganda is ridiculous since all of the sources provided in the OP are Western media. I have simply quoted what American officials have said about the weapons shipments so to call me a liar is not a fair or reasonable conclusion and not only shows a lack of debating skill but is also a breach of the Charter.

Show that these weapons or indeed any Weapons of this sort/type where provided to Al-Nusra by the Gulf states?

Since most of the weapons shipped to Syria from Obama's gulf allies end up in the hands of hard-line jihadist' groups it is reasonable to conclude that the biggest front line fighting force in the opposition have aquired some of those weapons.

Also please explain the following and this is the crucial bit why

    One question mark would suffice.

Anyone reading this thread can see I didn't specifically state that the KSA and Qatar are arming the Al -Nursa front so that part of your argument is a strawman.

p.s. I'm happy to debate this topic with you, but if you keep on with the personal attacks, you're just going to end up being ignored.

If you lie except to be called a liar you clearly lied in post number three
    of the "Aleppo" thread

You took 3 MSM sources you then selective quoted them and came to a wild conclusion This is typical of your posting style

Your source says that no heavy weapons have been shipped by them
That undermines your entire OP it shows that only small arms sent.
also as I have already said "hard-line jihadist" does not equal al nursa front there are many other groups that more aligned to KSA/Qatar
How can they "indiscriminate shell" with small arms?
Did you even read your Source?

have been funneling money and small arms to Syria’s rebels but have refused to provide heavier weapons

For months, Saudi Arabia and Qatar ..

    In conclusion
There is no evidence that OBAMA'S gulf allies have shipped any heavy weapons to the Al-Nursa front.Who are their mortal Enemies
Your entire OP is a Fantasy.

America has accused Al-nusra front of being a terrorist organization and said it was descending from Al-Qaeda and that is to gain the favor of the national gathering and it's supporters in the war against terrorism and that is to assist the ally Israel government who will benefit from Assad staying president as long as possible until a new government system arrive that serve the interest of Israel in the area.
Seeing that Al-nusra front won the bet on the battlefield and makes the fall of Assad nearing.Al-nusra front was labeled as terrorist organization to stop the logistical and material support.
For the support of KSA and Qatar for Al-nusra front ( if it is true) is a response to Iranian support for Assad and his militia (a war of attrition) which was hit by the enemy weapon as did The US in the eighties in the Cold War.When Al-Qaeda used to be Jihadist movement in the elimination of the Soviet Union.

Forgetting that more than 70,000 civilians killed , mostly women and children
Forgetting that more than 2 million of injuries
Forgetting that more than 620,000 refugees
