You have us as only losing one of our next 13 league games.

    Not a hope.

And Spurs winning only 1 of 11.................who shot Bale???

Spurs with 8 draws in 9 games, cant really see that happening to be honest.

The best run of results we've been able to put together all year is 4 wins followed by a draw with a loss either side.

So yeah, the notion we're going to go unbeaten in our next 8 games until we meet United in like 2 months isn't one I'd be holding out to much hope for.

Anyone know if Wilshere,Walcott,Ox is playing tonight ?

    Or Santos for Brazil :p

Yeah you're right, I'll be fucked if we're gonna lose any god damnit!

Gonna stick to my usual CL target of 72 points required. Can't see anything changing this year, if anything it will be tighter than ever.

Bit of a contradiction there though? Surely if it is tighter, which I agree it will, the points required will be lower.

Excluding those against each other, we only need to worry about United and Everton. Spurs meanwhile have to worry about Everton, Liverpool, Chelsea and City along with an away game against Stoke.

I wouldn't trade that run in for anything. Only have the United game earlier but otherwise we have a great run in.

Unfortunately we tend to lose games to some weaker teams unexpectedly.
Was it W. Brom or Swansea who beat us home and away last season?

Neither, we beat West Brom away and Swansea at home. Not to say we didn't lose twice to someone we shouldn't have

Koscielny off at half-time with a leg injury - worrying. He was doing well too - France have conceded twice since he went off.

Wilshire with a great game for England tonight and involved in both goals, he really is flyin now!

If verm is not ready for the weekend it's squallici time

Yeah loaning deadwood Johan was a great move

English media going into Wilshere hype overdrive, you'd swear they hadn't seen him play before last night.

It was QPR as far as I remember.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 10,012 ✭✭✭✭Alfred Borden

No we beat QPR at home last year and lost away to them. Fulham took four points from us though!

Wishful thinking at its finest. Barring a catastrophic run of form, Tottenham are going to win a lot more than just 4 of their remaining 13 games.

If Arsenal finish with a W7, D5, L1 record like you're predicting and we'll probably just fall short. I'd estimate we need to get 30 of the remaining 39 points, 3 of which must include beating them at White Hart Lane.

Sagna set to leave according to @indykalia

Exclusive: Bakari Sagna will leave #ArsenaI Football Club in the summer. Confirmed. Ignore the PR games being played by the agent. #AFC

Not a bad guy to follow - he certainly hits more than he misses (although he is a Liverpool fan and was convinced that Walcott was going to Merseyside)

We need to replace him anyway and Jenkinson will take over his role. A back-up now required. Sagna a bit past it now anyway but was my favourite player for the last few years.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 11,224 ✭✭✭✭Marty McFly

Yeh I won't be to pushed if Sagna leaves his performance of late have been very poor even at year you could see him starting to dip.

A Tayto said just need to bring in some competition and let Jenks battle it out with the new signing.

I really don't know what the story is with Sagna at the moment. What infuriates me most though is his reluctance to cross. He finds himself in a decent postion to get a good ball into the box and yet he chooses to pass the ball in-field. Very annoying, especially when we actually have someone in the box that has the height, strength and ability to get on the end of one.

I think his for began to dip last season and now with his form dropping his heart is no longer in it at Arsenal either most the time I watch him play these days he looks dis interested half heartedly chasing back or after a loose ball etc.

To be fair to him though 2 broken legs in a season is pretty hard thing for any player to over-come. Perhaps he is still getting over that?

Yeh I know that but to be honest I think his form was begining to dip before the broken legs only marginally but he was on the wane, and this season sometime he looks like he just doesn't care anymore ability aside.

Look at Evra though, he had quite a dip at Man U, for a season or more, and yet he seems back to his best now. Still if he's going, let him go and let's find someone better

Any injuries reported by any of our players on international duty last night?
I saw that Koscielney was replaced as he had a leg injury but can't find anymore about it. Hopefully its only a slight knock.

 Squillaci , letting Djourou go out on loan without getting a replacement could come back to haunt us.

True. Rosicky struggled for a long time also to get to optimum fitness and that was a long time after coming back from his 08-09 injury layoff.

The thing with Sagna is it's not like he's shirking headers and that kind of thing. He still goes in and wins them well which has always been a strength despite not being the tallest.

Still, if he goes, pick up another RB like Monreal and let them fight it out with Jenko.

  • Registered Users Posts: 5,756 ✭✭✭emergingstar

Would love him to stay but I still expect Jenks to start taking over next year but we could do with keeping his experience

In saying that it's prob his last big contract so if he can get big bucks somewhere else I wish him well

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 12,478 ✭✭✭✭gnfnrhead

Is Miquel injured or something since nobody even seems to be considering him. He was ahead of Squillaci a good bit last season.

As for Sagna, he looks like he wants out. Unless we replace him properly, I'd rather he stayed as back up but can see why he wouldnt want that. It was only a matter of time before Jenkinson took his spot anyway.

EXCLUSIVE: Vieira joins Bergkamp on list to replace Brady in youth role at Arsenal
    By SIMON CASS
    PUBLISHED: 22:45 GMT, 7 February 2013 | UPDATED: 22:45 GMT, 7 February 2013

Patrick Vieira is in line for a sensational return to Arsenal after Arsene Wenger sounded him out about the job of replacing Liam Brady as head of youth development.
Former Arsenal skipper Vieira, who won three Premier League titles and four FA Cups under Wenger, has joined fellow Gunners legend Dennis Bergkamp on a shortlist of potential candidates for the post of nurturing the next generation of stars.
Vieira is Manchester City's football development executive, a post he has held since 2011.

However, the 36-year-old is understood to be tempted by a reunion with Wenger and the chance to return to work on the training pitch rather than continue with the largely ambassadorial role he performs at City.
Meanwhile, Arsenal have abandoned their pursuit of Barcelona's David Villa after their approaches were rebuffed in the January transfer window, and are set to make £25million-rated Fiorentina striker Stevan Jovetic the club's No 1 summer target.
Wenger is convinced Jovetic can become his next Robin van Persie and is prepared to smash the club's transfer record - the £15m paid to sign Andrey Arshavin - to land the Montenegro striker.

    link

More on the Jovetic (watched for 18 months) story & Sagna to be replaced with a first choice RB not Jenks.

I'll always remember the pride I felt when he scored this goal.

Just thought "This man plays for The Arsenal and he just scored a world class goal on the world stage"

    Good chap Dennis

In fairness we could easily have an entire thread devoted to the genius of Bergkamp. I got a dvd a few years ago "Centurions", 2 discs with Bergkamp and Henry's 1st hundred goals for the club, it's unreal.

Number 3 on this clip was always one of my favourites but they're all amazing. Enjoy!

I like and I highly rate Mertersacker, but I have a horrible feeling about the combined lack of pace in a Mertersacker-Squillaci partnership. That would definitly be targetted.
