Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. Gibbs LW, Gervinho RW, good move for me.

Gervinho stretches the defence brilliantly, pity about the rest.

Boom, not a great performance but a solid hardworking one.

Like I said after Bayern, we lack quality but disclipine and work rate will get us there in this race for fourth.

Great win didn't hear nor see the game but this result away to Swansea is great onwards and upwards

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 52,475 ✭✭✭✭tayto lover

Can laugh now but that performance up to the goals was poor.
However just like Wed night we would take 2 nil away any day.

    Today's Ramsey rating: 7.8

    maybe even a low 8

Another great away performance, think the commentator said Swansea have only lost twice at home this season. So that was a big win for us. That defence does look very solid i have to say. Hope i will be saying the same thing though when we come up against a team all guns blazing.

    Tough. Game
    Good win
Ye can moan about the performance all ye like

    Jenks was outstanding again

it was uneventful most of the time, but very important three points.
I know it's not ideal, but at this point I wouldn't mind for games to go like this and win them all like this.

btw, was Walcott actually playing??? :P

He was very very poor but sure he has his contract now.
A wee bit of sitting on the bench might work.

He could do with time on the bench but this contract talk needs to stop. He scored in 4 consecutive games after signing the contract. This is quite simply a drop in form.

Good win away from home. Didn't see the game so can't comment on performance. Don't really care. We won. Important 3 points

We weren't great today but dug out the win and I don't think Fabianski had to make a save.

Pity about Gervinho at times because he opens up a defense really well and then falls over ... he took the goal really well though. Nice to see Monreal nacho his first goal as well :)

True, but nobody's great 3 days after a CL away match.

It would be amazing if Fulham could do something tomorrow.

Absolutely delighted with the win. Felt very similar to the home game against them but with us winning it this time. Now to WHL tomorrow, lets hope Fulham can get us something.

Me nerves are shot. Delighted with the win at Swansea, a tough place to go and get a result. :)

Santi plays way better when jacks not around
Wenger will need to sort that for next season

Very good. Steady and no mistakes. Fab hadn't a save to make.

Kos is really becoming the leader of the defense now, future captain or vice captain?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 52,475 ✭✭✭✭tayto lover

Did anyone notice the incredible burst of speed from Jenkinson to cover back in the first half? Didn't know he was as fast. He will make that position his own soon.

Didn't get to see the game today - any chance that the Gervinho Wenger thought he had bought finally turned up today ?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 30,746 ✭✭✭✭Galvasean

Great first touch by Gervinho and a decent finish too. Hopefully it'll do wonders for his confidence.

That's the second good game Gervinho has had now. Keep using him as a sub and maybe start him one of the games if he keeps it up. Hope Podolski is back soon. And Wilshere obv.

Poldi said on twitter today that he is now fully fit again.

Gervinho is the ultimate confidence player but if you could encourage him to deliver it fast and to think on his feet more often then i believe you would have a very confident and capable squad player at least. There was a great article on him during the ACN after one of his wonder goals and the journalist was of the opinion that Gervinho needs constant encouragement from supporters in order to push him that bit further but unfortunately the Arsenal fans are unforgiving. The demands on Gervinho are based on the achievements of Henry, Vieira and co which might be harsh but at the same time when you pay the dearest ticket prices in the whole league you expect that 10% more at the very least. Wiltord was no better you could argue, but because he played in the football equivalent to the Harlem Globetrotters there was a bit more forgiveness toward him as well as a bit more drive to come up with the goods from his teammates which to be fair to Wiltord he was more than capable of. Gervinho probably hasnt that same level of leadership around him. I mean Vermaelen is doing stink this season and he is club captain but in the past Tony Adams was even excelling whilst hungover, You need your leaders to take these Gervinho or Eboue type of lads by the scruff of the neck and drive it on

Will 70 points be enough for top 4 again this year?

I dont think so. Its different than Nasri, Fab, RVP etc

Dropping and selling an under performing captain who should be in his prime will send a message that below par performances will not be tolerated.

Given that our 75 points will secure us third, I reckon so. Gotta feel sorry for Spurs though. That injury to Bale is really going to come at the wrong time.

I agree with you, but other fans/media will reinforce a stupid point that they're trying to make

You'd be lucky to get 5 million for Verm TBH.
