    This weekend sees the third staging of the snooker shootout from Blackpool. This non ranking event is a welcome addition to the snooker season and has proven very popular with both the players and fans alike.

    With the exception of three notable absentees in the form of Ronnie O'Sullivan, Judd Trump and Neil Robertson there are some tasty matches lined up for the first round none more so than Ken Doherty taking on UK and Masters champion and world no 1 Mark Selby.
