How to cut shapes from slate?

Would anyone know of what i could use to cut circles,oval shapes etc from slate? I wouldn't imagine a hand slate cutter would give a good finish?

You could use a dremel with a stone cutting blade or for bigger ones a jigsaw with a diamond tip blade.
