    Mad day.

Dead calm now with beautiful sunshine.

  • Registered Users Posts: 551 ✭✭✭Wine Goddess

Just had very heavy rain and strong winds in Firhouse/Ballycullen for about 25 minutes.

Wind now stopped and rain easing but think it's just the calm in the eye of the storm looking at the charts....

Gust of 105kmh at Roches Point @ 1pm. It has been a while since we have had a storm like this during the day.

Lots of roads are in an awful state with the surface just being washed away, the pot holes are really bad, so take care if you are going out there.

There is some more cloud moving in from the South as well, so we will see what the next 2 hours will bring.

My area is on that map, so I looked out the window and I can see a dirty black cloud to the northeast. Looks like all these showers are going to narrowly miss me judging from the Met Eireann radar, but the tail end of that might just skirt me if I'm lucky.

If you're in north county Dublin/Louth there is a strong cell producing lightning, heavy rain and strong gusts on the way. Look west.
