I was looking at buying an unlocked phone off Amazon. When I looked at the spec on gsmarina, it said the phone uses a minisim. Is this just another name for a microsim, or are they different?

    Thanks

Mini sim is normal sim, it's just a way to categorise all phones for search purposes.

    Micro is smaller

    Nano sim is smallest

A minisim is the standard size SIM that most phones use. A microsim is smaller and used by the newer iPhones and some other newer phones.

OK thanks everyone for the clarifications. I was just familiar with the terms sim, microsim, nanosim. Never heard the term minisim.
