    • 1 bathroom
    • Small Kitchen
    • Dining/Sitting room
The heating system at the moment is:
Open Fireplace - in the sitting/dining room
There is rads in bathroom and 3 bedrooms
    They dont work

She also had a hot press - where there is a tank and immersion switch - which heats wather : sink/bath

Im sorry, im not good at describing this better.:o
Hope some one can help me
The house has gone into disregard a bit over last few years

Is gas or oil the best?
My mum is getting social payment and fuel allowance

She has been ill for last few years with a few aliments
    She lives alone there.

can anyone give me a rough estimate and time frame (of work)

I would say you would be looking at a ball park figure of 3.5 to 4k.Its hard to judge really without seeing the property it may cost a lot less if there is an existing heating system but if new pipe work has to run that will increase prices.I would probably ask a few plumbers to for some quotes. As for fuel type I would go for mains gas if you can get a connection its very convenient failing that i would opt for oil. A rough time frame for install would be 5 to 10 days start to finsh.
I know this info is a bit vague but it is difficult to give exact info without being there

Check with your local council re funding availability for these works
