Suggestions for heating timer

I have an APT timer for the heat - one that has those push-in pull-out segments for heat on/off. I would like to replace it with something that I can set for workdays (early morning heat on) and weekends (a little bit later coming on). Any suggestions as to what to repace it with? Thanks

Any wall mount, 7 day, digital clock should suffice. They generally have 3 ons and 3 off s per day

You should be able to pick up a 7 day timer for €50 or so in the wholesalers, make sure you get one with a boost function on it.

If you want to spend around €100 you should be able to get a wifi based one that will allow you also access your heating from local devices and from the internet etc...

Have you any links to the wifi ones? Seems like a cheap solution for remote heating. Previous methods of switching the heat on remotely just seemed too expensive.

Probably a stupid question - what's does the Boost function do? My current timer is an on/off one with an override for permanently on. Thanks

Boost function gives you the ability to turn on the heating for a specific boost period. Eg press the button and it gives you 1 Hour, then turns back off.

Looking at replacing my 3 channel Horstmann with something a little more programable.

I have room stats upstairs and downstairs for the 2 zones and the Horstmann in the utility controlling those and the hot water.

Any help would be appreciated.
