Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Nope. Not an eastern block car. They were even assembled in Ireland.

Bits of it look beetle-y but no the steering wheel, beetles and even some mercs were assembled in kit form in the 60's....it's hardly a Ford from Cork...baffled.

I seem to remember there was an oddball German model (not mainstream) assembled here in...........Louth or someplace ?

    Ode To The Motorist

“And my existence, while grotesque and incomprehensible to you, generates funds to the exchequer. You don't want to acknowledge that as truth because, deep down in places you don't talk about at the Green Party, you want me on that road, you need me on that road. We use words like freedom, enjoyment, sport and community. We use these words as the backbone of a life spent instilling those values in our families and loved ones. You use them as a punch line. I have neither the time nor the inclination to explain myself to a man who rises and sleeps under the tax revenue and the very freedom to spend it that I provide, and then questions the manner in which I provide it. I would rather you just said "thank you" and went on your way. Otherwise I suggest you pick up a bus pass and get the ********* ********* off the road”

I think this has run its course. If you reverse it it shows up in Google's image search. It's a Lloyd, either LP600 or Alexander: http://bringatrailer.com/2010/02/11/bringatrailer-whatzit-45/

There were a couple of threads on this make in Ireland some time ago:

What's the story with google image search? Do you quote the boards.ie pic reference number or something in google and it shows up? That kind of takes the fun out of this thread? I thought once you save the image to boards that it can't be traced back to google. I've had fun trying to search for the cars but I couldn't be bothered if people are just image searching the image- or maybe I have it wrong?

I would've thought people would download the image, crop it then upload it?

That's what I do. Just wondering what the "reverse image" reference is in FamousBelgins post. I didn't think you needed to do that

That's what I do. Just wondering what the "reverse image" reference is in FamousBelgins post. I didn't think you needed to do that

By reversing the image I meant horizontally flipping it i.e. left to right. I had found this image, cropped and degraded it and still Google image search could find the source. When I flipped it it couldn't be found.

After a taillight crop I put up was identified a little bit too quickly I discovered that Google could identify it so I tested everything after that.

    .

I don't understand. You mean you somehow place the whole image into google and ask it to search for that image? Like a face recognition app or something?
