Internet Radio Problem

Recently WLRFM and Beat 102/103 changed their streaming format.

Not really sure which sub forum to put this in because it's not really a radio question.

I have an internet radio which I bought in Spain in which you connect to it via it's IP address on the network and manually cut and paste the radio stations streaming address.

This is from the source code on WLRFM :

    var stream = 'http://184.154.145.114:8013/wlraac';

    Beat has similar code

If I enter this, http://184.154.145.114:8013/wlraac, the radio buffers to 99% then gives a hiccup and starts buffering again

The radio plays Zenith Classic Rock 128kb AAC stream so it's not the AAC.

    Any suggestions please?

Yes that happens on my Grace internet radio also on AAC+ v2 streams (I guess it doesnt have the codec needed for AAC+ v2??)

    EDIT:

I just checked the Grace internet radio directory and they both still stream in MP3 format
    http://184.154.145.114:8013/wlrmp3

    http://184.154.145.114:8013/beatmp3

I just tried it on my grace and it works!! (They connect at 32k MP3)

Try unplugging your radio and plugging back in,goto SEARCH and enter in WLR (and beat FOR BEAT 102-103) and you should get the new links to listen!

    Good luck to you icon7.gif

    Thanks for the reply.

I contacted the station and it seems they made some changes to the streaming and Roberts internet radios have the same problem.

Thats why they re enabled the mp3 streams.

    They are looking into it.

If you are in contact with them tell them to use AAC+ v1 and then all internet radios should be able to play them!!

Good luck..They sound like a good station! (I listen to them online to thier AAC stream using screamer player (VLC will also play that stream))

I think its interesting that these NEW internet radios do not have the codec for AAC+ v2 but programs like screamer player which came out in early 2006 does?? (Well the version i have (3.8)) and also VLC which came out in 2005! (The version I have (0.7)) Kind of stupid on the part of whoever makes these radios!!
