    Hi all

Looking to hear info on different suburbs in Perth.
There was a recent thread about Melbourne suburbs and it was a very interesting read.

Could anyone contribute their knowledge on nice areas to live?

We're moving in June, will be staying in Kalamunda for the first few weeks and then we will have to see. Hopefully this thread can point us in a few good directions or where to avoid!

Preferably less than 30km to city but open to suggestions!!

    Thanks in advance!!

Ah Kalamunda, the middle of nowhere!

If you want to something handy for the city then you need to be along one of the train lines. If you also want to be near the beach then the Clarkson and Fremantle train lines are the best.

Suburbs I'd recommend along them -

Clarkson line - Joondalup, Whitfords, Warwick, Karrinyup, Woodvale, Ocean Reef, Leederville, Stirling.

Fremantle line - Fremantle, Cottesloe, Subiaco, Shenton Park, Claremont.

Need to know a bit more about your requirements though as that's just a few of them, i.e. do you want to be near pubs/nightlife? Have you kids? Will you have a car? etc etc.
