Do you play poker at home or for low-stakes online and would like to get the confidence to play in a live environment?

The Fitzwilliam Poker Academy is an introductory course to live tournament play and will take place from 7:00pm – 8:00pm, beginning on Wednesday 6th and continuing for the 4 Wednesdays in February. Following each class, participants will get free entry into the Fitzwilliam Wednesday night €25 rebuy tournament at 8:30pm.

It is expected that participants will have a basic knowledge of poker; the Academy will build from the basics to give participants the skill set to compete effectively in Texas Hold’em tournaments.

    Course content:
    • Wednesday 6th - The basics and mechanics of play, rules and etiquette.
    • Wednesday 13th - Intermediate principles of strategy, a bluffers guide.
    • Wednesday 20th - Refining your game, play styles, tells, trapping, and position play.
    • Wednesday 27th – Advanced techniques, pot odds and graduation tournament.
The course will be taught by Graham O’Shea who will share his experience both directing and playing on the professional poker circuit. The cost of the course is €100 which includes free entry for the 4 x Wednesday €25 tournaments in February, so effectively the course is for free.
