At least Winter from might hold up then as there will be no big change in ground towards the NH season so far,Plot jobs for decent ground will have been caught out. Some are expecting freaky results but i wonder will this happen at all......

    JLT it looks like

Pentific looks like he could be going to the cross country. According to racingpost Aidan Coleman is booked on him in this race as opposed to the JLT. 33-1 could be a nice shout

Hopefully, NRNB so might as well pull the trigger

Betfair commission free on all races at Chelt on Tuesday because of the site problems Saturday

It's quite strange, tomorrow my main eye on Tuesday's decs will be a round about one. I'm hoping Swing Bowler goes in the mares race and not the county so that Timmy Murphy can ride Ifandbutwhynot on Friday.

Had taken some 20/1 NRNB, Betfred stuck 25/1 yesterday so I backed it again. Hopeful of a good run (Tanerko Emery ran well in the Imperial Cup to boost his November form yet again) and trainer reports him in good form. Backed him at Musselburgh last time to fund a County Hurdle bet, looked like he'd need to win to actually get in. While I haven't fortunes on him he's my biggest winner of the week

EDIT: Betfair markets suggesting Swing Bowler goes in the mares races

Thought he was going to the Supreme

So did I but not entered now but money for him in the County

Think I'll back Cause of Causes in that Colonel depending on his weight

152, carries 11-10 if Brampour stays in

Ifandbut runs off 135 and I actually though 5lbs for his last win was lenient enough. Tanerko Emery ran off 141 in the Imperial Cup and Brick Red (who was also behind in November) is rated 144

I'm guessing a horse surely needs to have 10lbs up his sleeve to win this so will need to improve again. Ground will be ok and he has a solid course win where Murphy brought him the longest way round yet won a shade cosily.

There are a few others I like in the county so might end up backing 1 or 2 others in it

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 18,335 ✭✭✭✭UrbanSea

Doubt I'll be backing him so

    I'll just leave this here.

Alastair Down gave Ifandbutwhynot as one of his bets of the week on Sunday Forum this morning. Seemed strong on it.

Yes, but the colonel gave it about 2 weeks ago if memory serves me right,I backed it,might even back it again :-)

Bit defensive, never said he didn't. Was just stating the fact that Down had tipped it seeing as he is obviously keen on it too. No biggie.

sorry I wasn't trying to be a smartass or anything, I was just saying I backed it because of the write up the colonel gave it,got 25,s.if its still around the same price I will probably back it again,no offense intended.

Wondering will they pull Wonderful Charm from the World Hurdle now that the going is on the soft side?

Idiots guide to picking a winner.
Look for Ruby Walsh and Barry Geraghty and back whoever is on the bigger priced horse.
    eg. Champion Hurdle..HURRICANE FLY 2s(Walsh)/GRANDOUET 7s(Geraghty).

Guaranteed 3/4 winners for the week.

Don't worry best thing to ever happen you..they suspended my account 3 times. Their site doesn't work with the iPhone or iPad properly. Now they've locked my account even after I placed free bets with them. Want my passport and utility bill. Sent it to them..probably take 2 weeks to reply! Clowns

can't believe Mail De Bievre is still 6/1 without SS, only has Sizing Europe to worry about imo.

At 12/1 I think Back In Focus is worth a bet for the 4 miler with Victor Chandler. He is entitled to take his place in the RSA but with connections more than likely going to be having Boston Bob in the race and Back In Focus looking made for the 4 miler I think they might go for that.

A lot could happen between now and Cheltenham and Back In Focus could end up being the number one hope for the RSA for Willie Mullins but if that does happen I'll get my stake back as a free bet anyway so its worth a shot.

    Time to get drunk! :)

I'll be a broken man if First Lieutenant doesn't come roaring up that hill tomorrow.

Can't bring myself to back Get Me Out of Here for the World but would love him to win. Not sure has another one of his avid followers Roverjames backed him but no doubt we will be cheering him home anyway.

So Young did some lovely work last week and one has to remember his 3rd in the Neptune in that vintage 2011 renewal.

Only Antepost bets left are FL at 4/1 and SDC at 8/1 dome the day after he won the Jewson last year.
Pretty bad festival for me so far

First Lieutenant simply wasn't good enough. He was coming with a strong challenge until that bad mistake, I'm not sure whether he would have been good enough anyway. Ultimately the mistake was because he was going a stride quicker than he was comfortable with, a similar error that Captain Chris made last time out against the winner. No excuses but I'm very disappointed, horse looks a little tripless as of now.

Only problem is that it's right up Flemenstars too! Seconditis again if he goes there I'm afraid!

In fairness...how good is Cue Card!! Any horse that can get within 7 lengths of SS is a serious animal.
