With an eye to the double game week I'm thinking bringing in a Liverpool player for Joe Cole Out. Henderson or Sterling? No other funds available so it has to be a straight swap with Cole.

Neither, Liverpool have a Europa League game away to Zenit in the middle of the double gameweek so I dont think either of them will play both games, Allen and Downing will get some game time. Then they will have a blank gameweek after the double so it's not worth the risk.

Ba to Giroud yay or nay? Arsenal are scoring well and Giroud bang in form up against the stubborn Stoke, Ba dropped recently but i have this funny feeling he'll start and score against his former club Newcastle (always happens, right???)

Benitez must be riding Torres, why else would you play a misfiring striker ahead of a guy who knows how to score.

I've swapped Ba out for Suarez, now watch Suarez get injured & Ba score a hatful.

    Do you have Ba too???

Ah god i dunno, all my transfers have been biting me in the ass recently. Less than three days apart you would have to think that Ba will start...

is keeping Ba not against your mantra of staying away from players who are liable to be rotated?

The never ending niggle that Ba will play and bag a HT just won't go away for us Ba owners,it will be easier sell him this week if he bags a good score

Went ahead and did Ba to Giroud. Will also allow me to do Gibbs to Agger or Johnson next week

What are the thoughts in relation to Danny Graham? Surely he'll play considering that's why he left Swansea and will be giving up a League Cup final for minutes. Would make no sense to sit on a Sunderland bench when he could sit on a Swansea one.

I really think this could be a great option at just 5.4 assuming he plays.

i'd be surprised. agger and johnson the 2 best options imo. and possibly enrique. i'm leaning towards agger coz as a Liverpool fan i see all their games and agger has been getting forward alot also a threat from set pieces

yep, but it's hard to drop him when he is expected to play. However, I was travelling home today and thought "why not just get rid now and if he scores 2, feck it its only 10 points"

Contemplating keeping Ba again for this week! Could spell disaster but he hasn't started the last 2 games and away to his old club is surely a chance for him to bang a couple in??

Lads can Daniel Sturridge play in the Europa League?

Thoughts on getting in Anichebe? Would he be starting against villa? Only 4.5m (I think) so can be kept for a few weeks if it doesnt work out, as wont break the bank to get him in, but he can score lots when hes on his game, and vs a shambles of a villa defence.

Nope as Chelsea are in it and he played for them in europe this season

Are Swansea liable to have issues on the double game week with the league cup?

Nacho Monreal signed by arsenal. Hes a left back, so anyone with gibbs might want to keep an eye on if gibbs might get dropped.

He's even cheaper. Anyone know if he'll play though?

I'll be keeping Ba, but if he disappoitns/ doesn't get enough game time this weekend I will sell him before he loses too much value. Giroud/ Cisse are possible replacements. Will also hope to get rid of Nelsen who I foolishly wasted a transfer, but don't think I'll take 4 point hit not worth it, will wait till next week. Just that relying on West Ham defenders isn't great recently.
Is Evans due back this weekend?

Benitez already knows he's getting sacked at the end of the season. That means you just can't expect him to do what a manager would normally do. Torres is rubbish but it's clear he is number one in what seems to be a 3-1 or 2-1 rotation cycle. I've decided to keep Ba for this week because he is due one of his 1 in 2/3 starts and it's against a set of defenders he knows well so even Benitex must see the logic of playing him but after that he is gone (and ~0.5K with him as I've had him from the start). Not sure who to replace him with but will cross that bridge next week.

Not to rain on your parade too much because I'm sure he probably will start but isn't it equally or possibly more relevant that the defenders in question will know his game inside out?

Normally I would agree but it's Newcastle defenders we're talking about. They don't even know their own game inside out :)

    Benteke-> Suarez & Bale->Taarabt

Very much with the DGW in mind for Liverpool the next GW. Will get Fabio in asap.

I have no idea what to do with my transfer this week tbh...anyone with suggestions? I have 2 FT but only using 1. Want to roll over the other to GW27 to get rid of LIV/SWA players if necessary..

Just like Liverpool and Stoke, Fabio has no game in gw27 so be very careful.

I wouldn't use a transfer just for the sake of it but one that is screaming at me there is Demel. He has 6 points in 5 games! I know they have a home game against Swansea but he is rubbish - went off after 60 mins and is unlikely to keep his place in the team going forward. Best get rid now when you can do it for free, I can't wait to dump him!

You have £2.7m in the bank. Are you saving this to upgrade Puncheon or are you willing to use some of this to upgrade Demel?

A team that have gone massively unnoticed are Spurs, they've only conceded FOUR goals in their last EIGHT games. BAE is back, could be worth a punt at £6m, and Vertonghen/Walker are pretty safe bets.

With Gibbs injured again and the new left back in i dont he is a FF player anymore this season for me anyway, thinking of getting in Davies of Swansea especially for the DGW.

Does anyone think Lampard would be worth getting in for Michu or will he keep his place when the rest of the players return from internationals, problem with Michu is he does bursts and when he does he is on fire. Lampard good for a goal every second to third game at least, takes frees, penos and isnt afraid to shoot.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 20,553 ✭✭✭✭Dempsey

Anyone else thinking of getting rid of Michu? I think he could suffer fatigue due to a lack of cover.

His shot to goal ratio is currently beginning to wane which is a worry

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 9,600 ✭✭✭roryc

Michu would need to draw a complete blank in his next three games to make me consider dropping him. Put simply, there's no one better at £7.4m.

For almost all managers there will be a loss of £1m on Michu, so if you get rid and he hits form again you simply won't be able to get him back in without sacrificing elsewhere.

Any updates on Mata , I'm thinking they might rest mata and with hazzard gone they might play torres and ba?

If Mata doesn't play then need to make a transfer and I'm thinking Walcott.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 17,022 ✭✭✭✭Iused2likebusts

futureguy Id agree with rory.Demel out theres a fair chance he will lose his place as they signed pogatetz who can play left back which could see o brien go right back. Turner off norwich is a reasonable replacement.
Puncheon may be a problem going forward aswell he was taking off at HT last game the new manager may not rate him as highly as Adkins did. Downgrading him will save you some money aswell seen asyou will rarely start him.
Good idea to keep two transfers to sort your team out for GW27.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 36,470 ✭✭✭✭SlickRic

also, for those looking to get rid of Fellaini...

this week is a home game with Villa, so there will be goals, and set pieces are a great source of pain for them.

    then it's United next GW.

and we all know what he can do against Utd, and where he is likely to be playing for that game.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 36,470 ✭✭✭✭SlickRic

just one thing i'd like an opinion on...

should i get in Clichy (Liverpool at home) this week for A. Cole (Away to Newcastle)?

or should i just save the transfer?

i've also got Sagna i'd get to rid myself of longterm i think, who i could rid myself of for Clichy. the only thing is I won't be able to afford Bale for maybe 3 more GWs.

unless i points hit of course...

One of my Stoke defenders (Begovic and Cameron) has to go. At the moment I'm torn between Cameron - Fabio or Begovic - Mignolet.

Sunderland have a better defence than QPR, but Fabio is a bargain if he keeps playing in midfield and QPR continue to be solid.

Has anyone actually seen much of QPR's matches in the last couple of weeks? Does Fabio look like he'll keep his place?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,141 ✭✭✭Santi101

Went Gibbs to Enrique, would have preferred Azpi for this weekend but Pool have a DGW coming up and I didn't want to have to waste another transfer changing again.

Plus I dont think City are quite the force without Kompany and Yaya so Liverpool might be able to frustrate them.

    Agree on Demel too.

I wont be playing him this week, even at home I dont expect West Ham to keep a CS versus Swansea. Might chance Federici over Begovic though, Stoke will certainly concede at our place.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 9,600 ✭✭✭roryc

I'm playing Federici over Beg - more chance of save points. Debating doubling up and playing Harte over Cameron/Demel? Might still take a 4 point hit and bring in a Zabaleta but they face Liverpool so not exactly a solid 6 pointer. Currently working out whether a Spurs defender is worthwhile.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 16,305 ✭✭✭✭Mr.Prodston

Please can somebody talk me out of doing Robin Van Persie -> Wayne Rooney? this wildcard can have a strange effect at times

Go for BAE, he plays behind Bale, all he has to do is give him a 2 yard pass and Bale beats the whole defence like in Escape to Victory, you sit back and watch the points pile up:D;)

one week of RVP doing nothing, and someone wants to take him out?

fúcking hell that sums up some people with this game sometimes :p

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,141 ✭✭✭Santi101

I'd never change RVP but if I had a gun to my head and absolutely had to do it, Rooney would be the only striker in the league I'd replace him with. If he stays fit for the rest of the season, he'll bag goals - wouldnt be shocked to see him get 10 or so in the run-in. Rooney's notoriously streaky.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,458 ✭✭✭chops018

Will any of the transferred players today be playing this weekend?

I wouldn't mind chancing Samba for the injured Gibbs, he was a machine at Blackburn.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,141 ✭✭✭Santi101

I wont change Michu for the rest of the year barring injury, I just cant see anyone that will do better around his price. And he was close to a few assists at Sunderland the other night,a goal is coming for him.

Fellaini would be more concerning, I'd say his streak in front of goal was more a purple patch than anything. I might change him in a few weeks time depending on how he does.

Hoping for something at home to Villa though, they are a terrible side these days, probably the worst in the division right now.

It was just an idea I was toying with. I can safely say that my moment of madness has passed. I don't think I'd be stupid enough to actually pull the trigger :pac:

Cue a Rooney Hat-trick at the weekend now
