Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    Hi Lads/Ladies,
Hope you can give me a bit of help. I have had a look through similar threads already and the 'Read Me First' thread but didn't really find a concrete answer. I'm looking for a set of high quality in ear (bud) headphones, with inline mic controls for no more than €80-€90.

Up until recently I had been using a set of Beats which we're really god awful, I was young and very stupid when I bought them so please don't hold it against me. I've seen the error of my ways :p

I listen to a lot of music (all genres) so they will be getting very regular usage.

I know there are plenty of threads similar to this but I'm hoping by being a bit more specific you might be able to help me out.

    Thanks in advance.

EDIT: An inline mic would be ideal but it's not crucial. If you know of a worthwhile set of headphones in that price range I'd love to hear about them too!

here's the audiophiles thread on it....
    http://www.head-fi.org/t/632892/review-sony-mh1-the-best-kept-secret

if it works with your phone for mic (google it. a cheap adaptor may be needed) it's a bargain.

    amazon link.

    http://www.amazon.co.uk/Sony-Headset-MH-1C-SmartKey-Control/dp/B008BRAQJO/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1359504541&sr=8-2

(this is link for phones that don't come in full retail pack but same as)

works 100% with any mp3 player. some phones work, some don't.

Thanks for the reply glasso. I'll do a bit of a search for more reviews etc on them. I have edited my OP again so the lack of an in-line mic is not a deal breaker. If there is anything else that pops to mind knowing that please let me know!

only thing is that it's not great for running as you tend to get microphonics (sound from the cable) with this iem (in-ear-monitor). only an issue with lots of movement - e.g. running.
feedback from 100's of people on that head-fi (people who know sh1t about earphones!).

Beware that Amazon link for £14.51 aren't actually MH1Cs. They are MH1bs, look at the product description and comments. Haven't seen them anywhere for that price.

The only place I could fine guaranteed mh1cs was the Sony site and the RRP is about £60 for them.

I wouldn't take the risk personally when most of them seem to be mis-labelled.

they are all real on amzaon. just ensure that it's mh1c (sony only model with sony at side of earbuds) , not the sony ericsson model (has sony ericsson green logo at side of earbuds). There is no difference to the £60 ones, except the box that they come in.

Problem is that on that amazon link you provided there are only 2 sellers. One place is selling them for 110 sterling and another guy is selling MH1Bs labelled as MH1Cs for 14 quid.

well the MH1Bs have the same sound quality. the only difference is that they won't work as an android phone control, but it can with a cheap adaptor.

read the first page of this.
    http://www.head-fi.org/t/632892/review-sony-mh1-the-best-kept-secret

so if you're only using for mp3 player listening it has no impact which one you get.

Thanks the crowd on amazon won't ship to Ireland and they're not expensive enough to bother using parcel motel. My soundmagic e10s are taking ages to come into stock so I think I might cancel them and go for the mh1cs. Is the sound quality much better?

If you can bump the budget by a tenner or so. My money goes to the Shure SE215s, fantastic pair of all rounders.

imo it is - read the head-fi reviews.... amazing all-around sound.
you can use parcelmotel (sign up for 2 free deliveries) to get the English seller to deliver as you use parcelmotel NI address (with your parcelmotel id) who fwd it to you. very quick. ebay sellers seem to be hong kong which would take longer.

Thanks mate, that's handy. I've been waiting for mp4nation to ship my e10s for the last 10 days so they can go fcuk themselves at this stage.
