Airport Extreme Setup with satellite

    Hi all,

    I'm trying to figure out how to set up a network for a friend. Unfortunately I haven't been able to physically see the problem which isn't helping.

    Basically he has satellite broadband coming into the house which is connected to an 'alvarin' router and then to a sonic wall for some reason. All the computers are macs so he then bought an airport extreme.

    Nothing is working so I was saying to cut out the sonic wall and router and just connect the line from the satellite to the AE. He's going to try this tonight.

    He said that he tried connecting the AE to the router but nothing was happening. After a bit of research online it seems that the AE would need to be connected to a router to work but would a satellite setup be different.

    Any advice at all would be greatly appreciated!
