Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Wonder which chelsea will turn up, the side that beat everton and stoke away or the side that went out in pathetic fashion against swansea and lost at home to QPR.

Tis fairly hard to predict chelsea this season.

Plenty of Goals in this one I say.

    Going 4-2 Chelsea.

Taking a stab at our team tonight and will say its going to be :

    Turnbull

    Ivan Cahill JT Cole

    Lamps Ramires

    Oscar Mata Bertrand

    Ba

Although i wouldnt be surprised to see us playing 4-2-2-2 and going with :

    Turnbull

    Ivan Cahill JT Cole

    Lamps Ramires

    Oscar Mata

    Ba Torres

This would see one of the CF's playing a bit wider and deeper when we dont ahve the ball, which Rafa has done with both Ba and Torres.

Is this match on TV any one know?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 21,625 ✭✭✭✭Johner

Much more confident about this game being away! Think Chelsea will win easily enough.

Arsenal - Liverpool is on Sky Sports.

Reading - Chelsea is on Fox Soccer Plus in the US so there should be some decent streams about.

    Ba and Torres upfront?

    Ba and Torres upfront?

Could be, if we want goals might aswell play all our attacking options.

I don't doubt the quality of the players we have, I just wonder if there's a lack of leaders on the pitch. Be interesting to see if JT manages to galvanize/kick up the jacksie the team's attitude.

We need Luiz back to, hes a dynamic in his apparoach and always vocal, natural leader IMO.

Nothing to be taken for granted here. We have enough quality, but it is really a question of which Chelsea turn up; the ones who put in heroic shifts against Everton and Stoke, or the pathetic, could-care-less mob that turned up all too often through the season.

Chelsea should win this... but that dreadful word "should" has been bandied about far too much in regards Chelsea this season.

I'll stick my neck out and say 1-2 or 1-3 to Chelsea. Chelsea will concede at least once, as has been the style thus far, but can hopefully outscore Reading come what may.

Off the top of my head, City at home, Utd at home, Juventus Home/Away, West Ham away.

    Any team news?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 13,563 ✭✭✭✭peteeeed

    Torres starting

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 21,625 ✭✭✭✭Johner

Chelsea: Turnbull, Azpi, Cahill, Ivanovic, Cole; Lampard, Ramires; Bertrand, Oscar, Mata; Torres

Ba not starting is a joke.

    Weak enough line-up.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 3,258 ✭✭✭MUSEIST

Oh dear god, I hope for rafas sake that we win this. I can't even begin to understand that line up:(

Chelsea subs: Hilario, Ferreira, Terry, Ake, Benayoun, Marin, Ba.

    Bench looks fairly weak.

Team and bench very weak, shows how small our squad is

This is another of Rafa's "Ah, sure we'll walk this one lads, rest a few players" games.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 9,627 ✭✭✭Sgt Pepper 64

Oh dear god, he comlains that Torres is tired and then keeps on benching Ba

    I despair

and Bertrand on the wing again? If RDM hadnt done it first, he would never have gone for that

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 9,405 ✭✭✭Lukker-

Absolutely no width again. It's gonna be all through the middle and will be severely crowded. Ivanovic should have been rested and Terry should have started.Ba. Obviously. Benitez must really not rate Marin

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 3,258 ✭✭✭MUSEIST

I'm not too confident about this.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 21,625 ✭✭✭✭Johner

Marin has been nothing short of shocking when he has got a chance.

I am for some reason! Weird feeling that Torres will score.

That is a shocking line up any confidence gone, hope I am wrong but why JT and Ba on the bench.

Starting to make sense why Di Matteo left him in the reserves for so long

I would have liked to see 4-4-2 for this game given all the players we have missing. It's hard to play 4-2-3-1 without any holding midfielders avaliable (luiz, mikel, romeu).

I would have liked to see this. Bertrand instead of mata as an alternative to this with mata swapping with Oscar.

    cech

    Ivan
    Cahill
    Jt----cole--

    Oscar
    ramres----lamps----mata

    ba
    torres

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 14,829 ✭✭✭✭Panthro

Was hoping to see Ba start this one.

  • Registered Users Posts: 7,603 ✭✭✭grumpymunster

I think our interim know's he is out and is just taking the Micky at this stage. If Moyes going to be next manager why not give Everton some money and get him now, God knows we gave Porto a good bundle

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 14,829 ✭✭✭✭Panthro

    Yahoo stat:
This will be Rafael Benitez’s 12th Premier League game in charge of Chelsea and he’s won 21 points so far. Roberto Di Matteo won 24 points in his 12 PL games in charge of the Blues this term.
