Hi - have 3 quotes for a smallish kitchen extension: 9ftx10ft to bring back of house in line. Internal walls knocked down, rsj, 14ft 4 panel sliding doors across new back wall of house. 2 velux, few downlights.new plug sockets, elect work, move gas for new hob, new radiator, labour for fitting of floor tiles etc. Coming in at just over 20k.

    Is this about right?

if the three quotes are all coming in around the same, then yeah they would be reasonable.

thank you. Its so hard to know when you and we don't want to get ripped off. All quotes are give or take the same so just need to pic a builder now. Its a little more than we thought so just wanted to make sure. Have to add cost of new kitchen (plus all new appliances) into the mix (approx 8k)!

well you have done the correct thing by getting at least 3 quotes.

as i said, if the three quotes are around the same figure then that's a good sign.

As regards it being a little more than you though, well thats the reason you get quotes at this stage. If you need to pare back now is the time.
