For more information on the documents listed on your checklist refer to the HEAR Application Guide and Workbook.

    Thanks RML,did not see that.

    Another question

My parents moved in Ireland a few years ago and in one column I need to fill out details about employment status. My father worked here but my mother never worked.

What do I do there ?

    For my mother it asks

    1. Present Principal Status: Do I write here Never worked ? No contact whatsoever, looking for home/family ?

    Questions 2 and 3 are these :

    2. Do (did) they work as an employee or are (were) they self-employed in their main job? Their main job is the job in which they usually work(ed) the most hours

.3. What is (was) their occupation in their main job?

Should I write unemployed for question one or never worked? And in question 3 I will write her occupation in her main job before she came into Ireland?

    Thanks a lot guys

    1) If your mother has never worked in paid employment then enter :
    Never Worked

    2) If your parent is working for a employer (company - an example) then I would put : Employee. However, if your parent is an owner of a business then it would be self-employed

    3) Well, to be honest i dont know the answer for this question. Sorry. But bear in mind that they are looking the income/employment for 2011.

Just to be on the safe side discuss these doubts with your school guidance counsellor also. If you are stuck on anything else http://www.accesscollege.ie/hear/documents/HEARApplication2013WEB.pdf this link should help you :)

The Social Welfare documents take ages to get, so apply for them early.

In a similar situation, with both parents from UK, told to put down mothers last paid work WHEREVER it was, so mine is in UK, father's worked here.
